We spent in Impiana 4 days with my husband in July 2012. The hotel is rather big and it is nice outside.
As for the rooms, we were staying at the superior room. To be honest, we were not enjoying it. The room was rather small and we have reviewed 2 more rooms for selecting better. But again, the last one where we finally stayed was small. The ceiling is too low. Also the rooms look like they require renovation.
As for the staff - I cannot say that they are polite, I would better call them neutral.
The breakfast was good and we enjoyed it.

As for location, it takes 40 minutes to go to Chaweng beach by foot. Also there is a transport provided by hotel which delivers you to Chaweng. But to be honest, the schedule did not fit to our plans (e.g. in the evening 5 pm or 10 pm). Otherwise, you could take a taxi.

To sum up, I would say that this hotel is good, but not perfect. I do not think that we return to it again.

My husband and I stayed here in June 2012 . This resort is just beautiful. The private beach is amazing, the water is crystal clear and the beach bar staff are fantastic.

I would recommend this hotel for couples looking for a quiet and romantic holiday. I had read reviews on here about noise etc so I emailed the hotel prior to our stay and requested a pool view room, much to our pleasure and surprise we were upgraded.

At night the resort lights up and it is just magical. The staff are lovely and very helpful, the beach front bar staff were great and everything was just so clean and perfect.
The location is great and only approx 10 min taxi drive into town. Across the road from the hotel is a taxi stand so i's always very easy to get around.

Highly recommend hiring a scooter as its cheap and lots of fun and you can spend the day riding around the Island.

I was so impressed with our stay at the Impiana we plan to return in 2013.

Room Tip: Fisher mans village is great on a friday night for shopping as there are great night markets. Also some great restaurants where you can have dinner on the beach.

Was at the Impiana about 2 weeks ago with my best friend. Beautiful gardens, pool and perfect location on the beach. The rooms could be a little better and updated but was fine for two people. Staff were amazing so friendly, respectful, helpful and attentive to any questions we had. One morning I was very unwell and asked reception to call a doctor to our room they said it would be to expensive and that they would drive us to the hospital. They got the keys and we left and they even came back to pick us up! Was wrapped at the service and the care given. Food was great, enjoyed trying lots of different things of the menu. Also, buffet breakfast.. perfect! and so fresh as they cooked all eggs, pancakes and waffles in front of us. I'll be back but were prefer to stay in Koh Samui with my boyfriend as it's more of a couples place to be rather than with a friend.

We visited the Impiana Samui Resort in mid December 2011 and the resort was empty! Our room was small but very modern, tidy and clean. The resort is located about a 10 minute drive from the town which we found to be very annoying! The resort does offer a shuttle bus however; this only went to and from town every 3 hours I believe. There wasn't really anything to do within walking distance so whenever we wanted to go out we would either have to pay for a taxi for wait for the shuttle bus. We hired a cadged buggy from a place that was just down the road from the resort. This was lots of fun and such a great way to see the island for only around $40 AUS. We were able to drive around the entire island several times at our own pace. I wouldn't recommend the resort to the elderly or those who have trouble with stairs. There are stairs to and from most rooms, the pool, beach and restaurants. The staff in the resort weren't as friendly as those that we experienced in Phuket. When we walked past them they didn't smile or even say hello.

Koh Samui itself is a small island which is good for those who wish to relax but other than that there isn't a great deal to keep you busy there. We stayed here for 4 nights which was plenty for us (even with lots of relaxing). You must go to the 'Clouds' restaurant in town though. This is upstairs but they usually have a person on the street promoting it. The food and service are fantastic!

We booked through a travel agent and put entire trust in him and were so excited when we arrived. Our room, although small, overlooks the beach. The room size also made it so that we went out every day, if it was bigger we would've been more inclined to stay in. although it was a perfect size for two people. we came on our honey moon and were greeted with a beautiful fruit plate. the resort has its own personal beach space. its so beautiful. we had breakfast buffet every morning, and the staff at the resort were so happy to help us out with whatever it was we needed.

Room Tip: ask for garden view rooms, thats where we were. we also got one on a higher floor to be able to see the beach from our balcony. so beautiful.
