“disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2014

Starters excellent, but main courses poor - lamb tasted like liver, way overcooked, same with fish. We have had far better on Samui for half the price.

“Good, but over priced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

We went to eat here with some friends after seeing the good rating on TripAdvisor. Some of is ordered the chicken, than one falafel and one Loin's den witch was lamb. All and all the food was ok but if you consider the price and the small portion you get its actually not to write home about. At least that's our conclusion.

“A modern and creative restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

Modern and creative, just opposite the Anantara Lawana hotel, this restaurant offers a wide wine list and a creative menu. Advanced reservations are more than recommended since it has only few indoor tables . Unfortunately the Outdoor tables face the main road and not suitable for a romantic dinner.

“THE BEST SO FAR ON SAMUI”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

Lunch at The Larder was a quiet affair, which is to be expected given the tropical island destination. However, the muted atmosphere did not detract at all from the excellent experience. Food was easily the best that I have found on this island so far. The wines that I tried by the glass, were clearly chosen by someone with a truly excellent wine palate, a commodity seemingly not found elsewhere here. I note some other reviewers criticising the measures of wine served here. This was something that I commented upon at the lunch, although my comments were as to how generous the measures were. The one let down was a cocktail made far too sweet, but this was replaced without hesitation or charge by the waitress. A commendable mature of attitude. I will be returning here for sure...frequently.

“A great find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

Although the Larder looks unremarkable from the outside, the food is truly excellent. The furnishings are quite basic, wooden furniture and blackboard on the wall, but the food quality is exceptional and booking is highly advisable. It is located opposite the Ananatara Lawana hotel and is used regularly by guests staying there. As an alternative to a meal in the hotel, this is just a short walk across the road and well worthwhile.
