we checked in after 8pm
one guy at the reception with no English at all checked us in. the room smelled bed, linen was really old and abused, and towels very small size and very colorful and ugly.
breakfast...... the worst we experienced throughout our stay in Thailand (10 nights at other hotels), unhelpful kitchen crew, dishes where not clean, out of juice, jelly jar was all sticky and unclean. did i say out of pastries? and out of wholewheat bread,
poor verity of food, we had some (bad) coffee, and got out of there.
i chooz an American hotel chain assuming i will be getting some quality, and was very disjointed.
on top of a hill great view, but hared to get in or out from,
do to the location we waited 30 minutes for the taxi and endedup using the hotels minivan paying more.
we moved out the following morning losing our 3 prepaid nights.

When I go to new locations out of my country I often select a Bestern Western Hotel as generally the rooms, locations and hotel are great and a good value for the cost...this place is however overpriced as it is not on the beach but has amazing views of the Ko Samui coast going up to the airport area of the Island...the big minus as in most of Thailand is that the Thai's do not speak much English so it is very, very difficult at times to make your point so that they can understand...at least one person spoke enough English to accomplish this but I still almost ended up a the worng pier to catch my ferry to Koh Pha Ngan...the food is good and the staff is very helpful...I was here for two days to get over jetlag so was in room most of the time...many pools to use and many families were at this location....the place is very nice and highly recommend it if you can handle the price...the bathroom in my room was fantastic...I have attached pics of my room and dinning area.

Room Tip: The top floors are the 200s...I was in 232...no one is above you and you can look down on the two fl...

This place is all we could have asked for. Great value for the money we paid for. Very friendly and polite staff, clean rooms. marvelous view from the sea view rooms. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Cannot ask for anything more if you are in koh samui to relax. It's a little away from attractions and beach. The hotel arranges for a free shuttle every hour to go to private beach which is very helpful. You get the advantage of a private beach, but does not have to stay in a crowded beach. We have only good things to say about this place and will choose this place again.

Room Tip: Choose sea view rooms, if you do so choose upper levels. 1st and 2nd levels are close to the pool an...

Great experience. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. sea view rooms are worth the money you pay for. Breakfast has a wide choice of tasty food. Though there is no private beach at this place, they have a practical solution for this. you can take the shuttle to a near by private beach free of cost. would definitely choose this place again when we go back.

Room Tip: ask for Sea view rooms...if you are lucky to be there on a clear day, will get a fantastic view of s...

We were given a lovely large room with views to die for. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were truely lovely and couldn't do enough to assist. The food in the hotel was beautiful.

It's a little way out of the main attractions but transportation is very cheap so getting around was easy.

I had no complaints whatsover about this hotel. Go, you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the sea. The views are spectacular.

We give this property a rating of "poor" and not "terrible" only because of our fond memories of two previous stays over the last 8+ years. The place has been allowed to deteriorate to a sad degree. We booked for 9 nights and stayed 3 before finding other accommodations.

First let me say that the staff here are wonderful: they are friendly and helpful and are doing their very best with what they have to work with.

The property itself is placed up on a hill and enjoys incredible views. However, the shuttle vans from the hotel to Chewang only run twice daily (once there and once back at 4 or 5 pm) and to Lamai every hour between 9 or 10 to 5. You're on your own for dinner transportation. There used to be a van to Chewang at 5, returning at 9 or 10. No more.

The layout of the hotel rooms, the 3 pools, the restaurant, etc. is wonderful. But everything just mentioned is old & tired--worn out to the extent that it cannot be cleaned. The pools seem to have low water levels and the infinity pool no longer works.

The wallpaper (original) in our room had goobers all over, the bedding was full of holes and stains. The room boasted a flat screen TV but money could have been better spent with a new mold-free shower curtain and a new toilet seat. We had 2 skimpy towels. that's it! No hand towels or wash cloths. The sliding patio door to the wonderful large balcony had an almost 2cm gap where it was supposed to lock and was crazy hard & noisy to open. And the glass was dirty.

We had lunch at the restaurant on arrival and the food was cold and greasy. Breakfast was some of the worst we've ever had. The coffee carafes looked like they had never been cleaned and the coffee was undrinkable.

We have had wonderful experiences all over Asia & Europe with BW Intl. It is a shame that this property has been so neglected as it has tremendous potential.

Room Tip: Good luck.
