stunning pool right across from a stunning beach! hardyly left the hotel everything you wanted was there. Happy Hour and great food.
could hire floated a lay out in the ocean all day.
music and night which was run and next door to a great irish pub.
very little shopping across the road but you are able to get a tuk tuk so some not too far away.
you can see the planes flying over head and the staff were great.
Internet was expensive

Lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting. Breakfast over looking the beach every morning, lovely little pool with bar too. We didn't need to ask the staff for anything but we were always greeted with a smile and had very good service. Towels for the pool were provided on a daily basis and theres complimentary water in the room too. The weather was very hot and humid so the air con and fan was most welcome. The hotel is at the end of the beach - just a 10 minute steady walk into town. (cut through a hotel to get to the main road - staff are fine with this) There are a few restaurants on the beach which are light up with gentle candle light every evening, we ate at the Chalala most evenings, the service was very good, we were sat just inches away from the gentle sea and if there wasn't a table available the staff would arrange one for us. For a quiet hotel on a beautiful island would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a brilliant holiday at this hotel. Excellent location very close to all the bars and restaurants on Chaweng beach. Everything is so handy, car rental, money exchange, taxis etc! Rooms clean and spacious! No complaints from us for what we paid. Lovely pool overlooking the stunning beach! Staff so polite - cannot understand any negative reviews - we walked the full length of Chaweng Beach and I thought our location was the best! Highly recommended :)

Great hotel - the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. Couldn't ask for more. I will be back. Staff lovely, food superb, right near beach, easy to get to town, everything you could want. Service was superb - even the singer at night learnt a new song in response to a request. Liked best location and genuine staff friendliness, Liked least - wouldn't have been much fun if it had been raining. Would like a better equiped gym and maybe some yoga classes.

Returned home from the Chaba Cabana & here is our honest accurate account of our stay...
1. Great location situated right on the beachfront at Koi Samui
2. Arrived to be greeted by rude arrogant staff who could barely speak English.
3. We were expected to carry our own luggage to the 3 rooms which we had booked. These were located on the third level of the building.
4. The deluxe Room allocations were situated overlooking the overgrown gardens, staff parking and refuge areas. The decor outdated, the bedframes tilted, and the bathrooms were covered in mould and tiling in urgent need of replacement.
5. We immediately requested rooms changes and were advised NO without reasoning. Staff simply ignoring our requests rolling their eyes and engaging in 'thai' conversation.
6. We sought management to rectify our concerns & were advised by staff members, who eventually surrended their names as THANYATHON BUCKAPIROMPRAT & JARUNG KAOPIMON that we would have to outlay 1200BAHT per room per night to upgrade rooms or phone our travel agent in Australia. This was an impossibility due to the time difference and with it being a weekend.
7. With one of our travellers suffering severe skin allergies and heavily medicated for this condition we had no option other than to upgrade rooms....in an attempt to secure a more sanitised environment.
8. House cleaning staff were useless, villa's were substandard, bedding was gritty, dusty, no collection of rubbish, no fresh linen, toiletries or coffee making facilities.
9. Breakfast was satisfactory, limited variety and no refills of bread, juices or condiments. Waitstaff were observed reading the AVON book opposed to attending to guests requests.
10. WIFI was an additional charge & usage was absorbed rapidly. When requesting a printout of usage were advised by JARUNG KAOPIMON 'No, its used and simply turned & walked away'
11. We mentioned our concerns to Food & Beverage Manager Mat who advised that the front office staff lacked customer service and he apologied sincerely for our unpleasant experiences. He attempted to seek a resolution without success however advised that he would communicate our concerns to the owner of the property. He passed his business card to us for further follow up.
12. The property is old, run down, and in desperate need of renovation. The grounds are overgrown and not maintained. The pool area is small and basic. Refuge bins are overflowing with soiled nappies, alcohol and are rarely emptied. Flies, insects & local felines literally swarm the bins which are located outside your villa.
13. Despite being extended a late checkout we were greeted by hotel security who had be instructed to remove us from our villa. Management claiming we had over extended our checkout and would be charged an additonal nights accommodation for this breach. This required extended negotiations to waiver.
Chaba Cabana = big $$$ little value.....
Disappointed first time visit to Koi Samui

Room Tip: Villas are the ONLY option at this resort. Ask to view rooms before taking up occupancy
