“Nice hotel, currently suffering from construction next door”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2011

Nice location, close enough to Chaweng town, but away from the centre of things. Hotel is well laid out, we stayed in a garden court with pool - garden lovely, bathroom nice but room itself wold benefit from a relayout and addition of a king size bed. Staff were brilliant, food was great and the pool area lovely. But, and its a big but, noise from the construction next door was constant throughout the day. Felt sorry for the spa staff who seemed to have no business whatsoever due to it. Go in 6-12 months when its all finished, but not before!

Room Tip: go for the garden court, but you don't really need the private pool

Lovely location right on the beach. Hotel Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good with many choices. The settings and gardern lights at night made dinner a beautiful experience. Room very clean. Loved it

We stayed at the Buri Rasa for 3 nights. Before that, we had stayed at another resort, the Hansar Bophut, which is on the quieter north side of the island.

The first day at Buri Rasa was a bit of a downer after staying at the Hansar which is a full notch above the Buri Rasa in my opinion.

We stayed in a deluxe room in the middle of the compound. As has been noted by other reviewers, the pictures make this resort look much bigger than it is. This is a small, cozy, boutique establishment, so just keep that in mind. Accordingly the swimming pool, grounds, etc. are quite small.

Location is fantastic, close to great restaurants and not too close to the nosy party of Chaweng. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is well designed with a very convenient layout. The front is walled off from the main street so you are isolated from the hustle and bustle on the main drag (which is a good thing) but need only step out the front of the hotel to be in the thick of it.

There are a lot of mosquitoes so be warned. Only two complaints:

1. One of the ladies at the front desk was not helpful at all and looked to be getting frustrated with our questions. She would tell us yes or no answers but provide no value added advice as we had always received from other establishments in Thailand. She wouldn't help problem-solve and instead left it to us to ask the right questions before she was forthcoming with answers.

2. The rooms only come with queen-sized beds, no king-sized beds at all. To me this is a major flaw for couples going on vacations to not at least have an option of king-sized beds, and instead they give you a couch which can turn into a single bed. To me it would be MUCH more beneficial to have a king-sized bed rather than a queen and a single, although I suppose that may come in handy for small families.

We were two couples who stayed at the Buri Rasa during September 2011. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very nice. Breakfasts lovely and to have dinner at the beach just amazing! We were upgraded to even nicer rooms at one stage.I love the fact that the hotel is quite small and therefor one gets to know the staff better. Will surely stay their again.

We stayed at the Buri Rasa for 9 nights along with our baby.We had originally booked a premium deluxe room but on arrival we got upgraded to a family suite which was massive. The suite was very nice with 2 plasmas and separate living and bedroom areas along with 2 showers, one being a rain shower and the other in the wooden decked area with the bath for 2.The facilities are great, very clean and well kept, good breakfasts and selection. As per norm, you can choose from continental, cooked selection, eggs benedict, sausage( made to order) and selection of jams, croissants and danish Pastrys along with juices, smoothies, yakult, and oh yes bloody marys. All staff are extremely freindly and helpful and love children. The pool is small but as you have the ocean a splash away it's fine. The restaurant serves high quality food and is very nice on the eye in the evenings for a relaxed romantic dinner.Well organized seating with nice ambience and surroundings.happy hours from 5-7 & from 10pm.Overall highly recommended,I would find it very suprising if anyone had anything less than a GREAT experience

My wife and I stayed at the Buri Rasa for 4 days on our SE Asia honeymoon trip in July. When we checked in, we were immediately offered an upgrade of our room because it was our honeymoon and were taken completely taken care of from that point onward. Though the room was clean with a lovely oversize bathroom complete with a spa style jacuzzi tub, we spend most of the day enjoying the perfect weather and beach surroundings right outside the hotel. There are private chairs reserved for guests of the hotel and the staff are extremely attentive and helpful for anything you want. We ate dinner twice at the hotel and really enjoyed the freshness and quality of what was offered, but the highlight was the the cooking class that we arranged to have with Chef Timm. The entire experience was delightful and we would return here in a heartbeat!
Oh, and for a quite authentic bite, go across the street to ninja crepes, it looks like a dive, but it's great!

What a pleasant surprise !! We booked this hotel due to the good reviews on this site ..........we are definately not disappointed.
I my opinion, there is no better value for money in Chaweng. The staff and service is excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy. The food is very good and the atmosphere very laid back. Will definately recommend this place to anyone who is still undecided.
There are however, renovations taking place at the neighbouring hotel, but the noise only starts at 10am and ends late afternoon, no problem for us spending the day on the beach.
