5 nights was too long in the Samui Island Beach Resort, our stay was disappointing to put it mildly. This is not a Resort – it has a non existant beach, poor food, dated - over-priced rooms, construction work going on 3 sides of the hotel. You will find better value for money elsewhere.

It is at the top of the Chaweng strip, a good 15-20 mins walk to all the bars and restaurants, not convenient. Shorter if you walk by the beach - that is if the tide is out.

For what I paid for the room, I expected more. The superior bungalow is small, basic and dated; we were upgraded to a hotel room which is a good size, average bathroom and facilities.

The breakfast was poor - average quality and little choice, if you weren’t there before 9am, the trays were empty.

The pool ... limited beds some without padding. The Hotel was right on the ‘beach’, but it has to be low tide for you to access it – its water front, not a beach where u can lie on and sun bathe.

There was construction work going on 3 sides of the hotel (stayed here Feb 09), lying by the pool is not relaxing when all you can hear from 8am to 6pm is nail guns, grinders, hammering and general construction work, to the other side of the hotel there was excavation work going on. You could not get away from the noise, hence we checked out early.

The staff were friendly, however there is not a lot they can do to shut down 3 construction sites.

I will not be returning to the hotel.

We travelled to this resort after visiting the Cliff and Jungle resort in Surat Thani. It was therefore easy to compare the two. The first was remote and relaxing. This was the opposite. Full of western tourists, very loud with fireworks lots of drinking on the beach.

The place is beautiful but was rather spoiled by the mess left after each evenings revelries. The accomodation was very good with easy access to the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are available.

If you are young (or young at heart) people who enjoy this sort of holiday then this is for you.

There are also many other activities available including jungle tours, Elephant trekking, scuba diving, snorkeling, and much more. So you can avoid the local resort and find quieter beaches if you so wish.

I would certainly go back here but would aim to go for a longer period and plan ahead for things to do.

  • Liked — Closeness to the beach
  • Disliked — You could hear the noise from the beach late into the night

We've stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in August 2008 and the experience was nothing less than disappointing. In the fantasy island of Koh Samui this so called RESORT has a nonexistant beach, obsolete rooms, unfriendly stuff and the most untasty breakfast.
And this is not all. The greatest disappointment of all came in the end of our stay when they lost our luggage (that we had left in the manager's office after cheking out)!!!!! The luggage was given to somebody else and taken to the airport. You can only imagine our fear... The management of the hotel couldn't care less and would not even give us an apology or an explanation...

Koh Samui is a great island with great hotel offer, do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY THERE!

Reply complain the case Evita :bacela, spain

For your case the point that your luggage that left in accounting room ( not in the manager,s room ) has somebody take to the airport because the luggage of one customer they have the same colour as them and lay nearby . When they take to the airport they do not observe carefully. because they hurry , so they take this guids, luggage to the airport. But after we know we hurry take them to the airport and take the luggage back in the same things not something missing. And our staff wai and say sorry for apology for this all the time. We do the best but for not happy for this they can Explose their temper to speak bad reputation. we don,t angry that but we would like to tell the true . The breakefast we have buffet breakfast inc. for the room and they can choose or order extra by they want . for untasty for example for eggs , bread , and becon or sassage they must to put salt and pepper by their style. And for the room they pay for bungalow we have hot water and fridge and TV for them and big bedroom and clean and that enough for paying bungalow on beach around 2,000 baht and for the beach this area is lagoon bay when the water low tide. You can see the area of the beach far away. That is nature but somebody that they like nature they said that is very beautiful and have some place in front of the hotel can walk and look far away of the lagoon. Hopefully by this letler can tell this guide for understand and make them khow the real things and the real evidence and for our staff , because not everybody can speak English Especially the cleaner and the maid they cannot speak English but if this guids say that we are not friendy that we understand because some staff here cannot speak English that may be they said we are not friendly ;;;;;;

My husband and I visited Samui during peak tourist season and had a pleasant stay here for 3 nights. We had initially reserved a standard room which was not nice at all - completely basic, tiny room and bathroom with no shower curtain! We expressed our disappointment at the front desk. They were extremely understaning and moved us into the deluxe room with a balcony and sea view at a discounted rate. The deluxe rooms were great - very clean, spacious, cable tv, minibar, and a lovely bathroom. We had a lovely buffet breakfast every morning and enjoyed the massage services by the pool overlooking the ocean. Access to restaraunts and nightlife around the Chaweng area was easy enough and took us about ten minutes or so on foot. We noticed however that several of the other guests had rented motorbikes to get around. Overall our experience had all the elements of an enjoyable stay.

Poor facilities, rude staff, dirty pool, over-priced, nowhere near the town and generally depressing. We were travelling all round South East Asia and this was the worst hotel we came across. Just awful
