“Clean Rooms but Very Boring”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed here because it looked relatively cheap and clean, it was reasonable at best the receptionist had to walk to the adjacent hotel to get change every time we needed to purchase something. It was a bit far from everything but was clean an did what it said on the tin. If your looking for a quiet hotel this is it otherwise try a little closer to the beach.

This hotel was a 15-20 minute walk from nightlife but the surrounding area of the hotel has great little bars and restaurants. These are cheap because they are local, the standard of food is not sacrificed in any way. The bars have lovely people and pool tables where you can have a good night at your front door.

The hotel itself has friendly staff that like all the hotels I have been to. On coming back from the full moon party the staff were nice enough to have water at the desk ready for us coming back (such a nice touch).

Thank you for having us :-).

I picked this hotel because I was on a strict budget and this one fitted the bill. The staff were friendly and the place clean. Admittedly the hotel is lacking in personality but the internet was fine, the rooms were cleaned everyday and they did move me to another room when I asked. The only issue I had was the lack of English channels. They advertise cable tv and based on that I was led to believe at least one English Channel would be avail. There was no cable tv just 4 Thai channels. Even though I don't come to watch tv, it's still good to be in touch with the world. Other than that the hotel is fine.

Stayed here in a pinch for three nights last month as turned up in Samui without a place to sleep. Found this on tripadvisor and the price was right so figured I'd give it a go.

At first glance, the place is fine. It's fairly new and overall appears to be clean, but the lack of attention to detail is where this place suffers. For one, the wifi almost never worked which was frustrating. I went down to the front desk to ask about it and was just told sorry, maybe it work tomorrow. lol

The room was spacious and new but uncared for. The bed looked like a cot from a hospital. There were small blood stains and holes all over my sheets. gross. The AC didn't work too well, and the glass door to my shower was cracked in half and taped together. The walls are a sterile white color with no decorations hung at all. Very institutional and depressing decor. Also in my shower there was no soap or shampoo left in the dispensers...try harder!

I guess the room is ok for the price...its tolerable but I couldn't recommend it.

Nothing to complain about this hotel. We stayed here a week round NYE and was one of the lower priced options around chaweng. The hotel is completely renovated and has very spacious and very clean rooms. The staff is also very helpful and nice.
It's in walking distance of the beach and close to the bar-beer strip which is definitely recommended to walk through.
It's quite a walk to the discotheques, but doable and the quality is definitely worth it.

having recently travelled to koh samui in thailand, we decided to book at the laem din, however we was a fair bit away from the beach and main attratcions, it wasnt to far! the rooms were comfortable and clean! the stafff were relativly happy to help and some spoke good english, which became helpful in troublesome circumstances! the night guy was horrid, but apart from that the hotel was good! having said that , it would be possible to travel to samui and find a cheaper room closer to the action , and book there and then! everything is bartable in thailand! the swimming pool in the adjacent hotel was awesome and very underuseed! i found myself alone in there most days and the views from the roof are quite something! so very good! a small gym is available which i found adequate to have a decent workout! the views from the hotel arent great and the road outside is quite busy! i would not recommend for a family, but if u were interested in staying in the laem din, book on arrival, and haggle for cheaper price! there are many hotels around that were cheaper upon arrival at about 800 baht a night! all in all it was comfortable and clean!

Room Tip: the back of the hotel was more quieter!

Hotel is on a reasonably lively street with some good bars near by. It's close to the main track and beaches too.

The staff are warm. The rooms are clean and comfortable with balcony.

The manager provides good scooters, with helmets (other places charge extra, not that anyone on the Island bothers to wear them) for 200bht per day. Put two litres in at a proper filling station. It will last all day. Don't use the stuff from road side dealers in bottles.

Overall, my fiancee and I would definitely stay again. As well as great value, the manager clearly gives a hoot about his guests, unlike some places we had the misfortune to stay at. Go for it!
