We ate at Coast whilst staying at the Centara. Being our first night we couldn’t really be bothered to venture out on to the Beach Road and ventured into Coast instead. It is a very stylish beach restaurant, with views out over the ocean and with a very chilled atmosphere. Food is though, only okay and service is pretty poor. You have to literally stand up and wave your arms around to get the attention of the waiting staff and there isn’t much in the way of warmth when you are served. We’d eaten here on a previous stay at the hotel and I remember the food being pretty good, but this time it wasn’t to a standard I would have expected for the price. To top the evening off it was easily the most expensive meal we had in Koh Samui on this trip and really not worth it either. It’s a lovely setting and a simply wonderful place to sit and listen to the waves roll in and the watch the fishing boats bobbing around in the distance but they either have to up their game to justify the prices or drop those prices because the manager’s “concept” doesn’t work for me. So much potential though.
