“Perfection!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

This is truly the most charming, relaxing, impeccably kept B&B there is. My other half and I stayed for just two nights in May and it really wasn't long enough.
The room was beautifully decorated with crisp white bedding and antique furniture, and every view is stunning. Breakfast is fit for a King, with wonderful local produce, organic jams and fresh eggs.
The town of Apricale is small but perfectly formed, and we had a wonderful dinner just a few hundred meters from Apricus Locanda.
I cannot praise this B&B highly enough - it really is the prettiest place I have ever stayed. So romantic too! Thank you Jeanette for your wonderful hospitality, we will definitely be back one day!

We reserved only 3 days before our arrival for much-needed rest and relaxation. What a pleasant surprise: such a quiet location, outlook to nature, wonderful breakfast, attention to detail and spotless accommodations in a wonderful hilltown village!!! Jeanette is welcoming and creates a relaxed hospitality. We took hikes to neighboring villages and savored Rossese wine (the local production) with excellent meals in Apricale and nearby towns. The cool pool was just right after a long walk. Our three days / nights were the perfect combination of food/wine, exercise, scenery, local culture and sleep. Che piacere trovare un posto ideale all'ultimo momento! Ci torneremo senz'altro!

We stayed here for three nights. It was a wonderful introduction to the Ligurian area of Italy. Jenette is a wonderful host and nothing is too much. Our rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. Wonderful views and the breakfast was tasty again with wonderful views. The pool was a bit cold for early June but it was a welcome area to sit by and have an afternoon doze. The Apricus is a short walk from town and we can recommend Osteria Apricus which is run by Jeanettes family - a great welcome and lively place to eat. We also can recommend the Billabong restaurant on the nearby beach.

Room Tip: Ask for room with balcony.

We stayed 2 nights at Apricus Locanda, which was the perfect introduction to the delights of Apricale. Our room was comfortable and tastefully appointed, with a lovely welcome from Jeanette on our arrival.
Breakfast on the terrace is not to be missed after a peaceful nights sleep in tranquil surroundings. The quality of the croissants and other fare on offer at breakfast was first class. We were fortunate enough to be moving on to Jeanette and Arturo's Townhouse, where we had a superb week of relaxation and soaking up the wonderful surroundings of Apricale.
We were also lucky enough to be invited to the opening of Apricus Osteria & Bar. A great bar in the perfect location for watching the sun go down, with lovely staff who will give you a super welcome and serve great, reasonably priced drinks and simple, we'll cooked food.
It was a real pleasure to visit Apricale, sample the Apricus brand, and meet Jeanette and Arturo, who are lovely, welcoming people who are committed to ensuring you have a wonderful stay.
A big thank you to Jeanette, Arturo, Ildu and Aldo for making our stay so special.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies or terraces are preferable

Jeanette made us feel very welcome, our room was extremely comfortable... and the breakfast delicious. We were returning to Apricale after a 35 year absence, and it's still just as picturesque and peaceful. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems ask for a room without too many stairs. The locanda is on several leve...

All has been said about the village, about fantastic, multilingual Jeannette. The B&B itself could not be better located. In the morning we opened our shutters and stayed in bed watching sunrise in the valley, a fantastic remembrance.
The rooms themselves are tastefully decorated with fresh flowers and embroidered linen. However there are several "but's" : the bed was very uncomfortable (we bounced all night) and absolutely not up to the standards of the 98 euros we paid for one night in that rather small room. Plus, wifi was not working in the room, which is a terrible handicap for people like us who need to continue working even when away: we had to go downstairs via a somewhat daunting spiral staircase to get connected.
Finally you need to be really sporty to go down to the swimming pool as the whole place is built on several levels using the former cultivated terraces (rather difficult to navigate). So you need to know all this before you go.
Anyway it was a superb week end: Jeannette also recommended a delicious restaurant in the village, DaDelio (not to be missed) plus we had fantastic weather in late October, which enabled us to walk up the 7km to the village of Perinaldo overlooking Apricale.

Dear guests from Paris. First of all it was a pleasure to have you as our guests. And thank you for the good review even if you didn't sleep well. I am very sorry to hear that because that is the 'core business' of a hotel isn't? So we will definitly have a look at the bed or even sleep in it for that matter. (Nobody complained about it before...)
A few years ago we were one of the first who had free Wifi. And we saw that some people did use it. But we also see that people want to be connected all the time now. When we close in november to do some work at the locanda we will try to organise a good connection in every room.
And the pool..... in summer it is such a beautiful silent place, surrounded by nature. I really think it is worth the 50 steps!
Thanks again for the time you dedicated to write the review. Hope we may welcome you again in the future. Jeanette
