Dined here Sept 2013 and food was very good, particulary the salads and the meats. Host was very welcoming and keen to practice his (very good) English when he saw us looking up words from the menu on our kindle!

I spent a week in Reinosa. We went to La Cabana 4 times. The food is delicious, the waiter was extremely nice and could explain us what each items on the menu was in great detail in English. It is also a great value for your money. I highly recommend this place!

I love going to 'La Cabaña'! Even though it's just off one of the main streets in Reinosa this lovely brasserie could easily be missed as it's hidden up a side road. I take every opportunity to eat there, not least because the owners make us feel so welcome and their enthusiasm for the dishes they prepare makes eating out a delight. The building looks to have been quite recently renovated so it's clean and bright but maintains a 'Cantabrian' feel with oak beams and traditional stone walls in the dining room. The service is attentive but friendly and unobtrusive, and, here's the shocker, there's a choice of vegetarian options on the menu, which in these parts is a rarity. My favourite is the pumpkin ravioli but the menu has about 6 or 7 other veggie-friendly offerings; including another favourite, balsamic caramelised onion salad with walnuts and goat's cheese, yum! The menu is written in Spanish but the owner speaks English and is more than happy to translate, taking time to describe the dishes fully and with gusto! If the home made pastas and salads are not to your fancy there's a selection of more traditional fayre, like locally sourced grilled meats with home-made chips. We didn't have room for a pudding this time but tried a taster of a new home-made yogurt ice cream which was lovely. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner, for couples, groups and special occasions. Can't wait for our next excuse to pop in.

We have visited La Cabaña on many occassions, and it is one of our favourites in the area, mainly as it offers a more varied, different menu than other places around here. It is tucked away up a side street of the main road, near the theatre, and has no parking, but there is plenty around and about. It has inventive dishes, nicely presented and the owner is nearly always on had to explain them in detail, he is very passionate about his work! He his wife also do speak some English. It's a place I've also taken vegetarian friends and family, as there are more possibilities here than in other places. The menu del dia is around 10 Euros, and it is rarely full at lunch time. At the weekend it may be advisable to book though as the downstairs is small and the upstairs often gets full of groups.
