Of all 5 restaurants we used in Scicli the Grotto just about took the crown as the finest. Having visited mainland Italy many many times over the years, I can honestly say that Sicilan cuisine is even better than the mainland. The flavours are far more intense and their ability to turn the simplest of ingredients into stunning food is amazing. As an avid seafood lover, the Octopus starter I had at La Grotto was the best Ive had anywhere in the Med. The menu is not huge and is heavily biased toward seafood, prices although higher than some in town were fair for the quality of cuisine served. Wines were sensibly priced too with an excellent range of great quality Sicilian whites and reds. If we had viisted the Grotto on our first of 4 nights in town I doubt we would have gone anywhere else.
