Our family of five stayed in the self-contained cottage for one night while doing the hauraki rail trail. After a long cycle carrying all our gear we were slightly disappointed to find that you have to cycle uphill on narrow roads to the B&B. Admittedly, it probably is only 800 metres or so off the track, but it would be nice for the B&B owners to give better instructions on how to get to their place and a warning about the hill. The self-contained cottage is very cute, clean and well set up. It is private and looks towards forest covered hills. The only other slightly disappointing aspect was the breakfast that was provided in the cottage. We were a family of five with three hungry children (especially after cycling) and they only left us 300 ml of milk for hot drinks and breakfast. Enough for two bowls of cereal. In the end we had to ask for more milk as well as bread as no bread had been left. Breakfast at this B&B was disappointing.
