We arrived on a Saturday and unpacked. Curtain in the main shower fell with first time we took a shower. They were jerry rigged with a normal curtain hook which will not take pulling and adjusting as you get in and out of tub. In less than 20 minute of being there, after I flushed the toilet the tank over flowed. Luckily I just had to put the hose back on the inside of the tank, to prevent a flood. The kitchen had old pan of grease in oven that we didn’t notice until we turned it on to warm something. Cooking utensils were dirty. My aunt and myself, thoroughly cleaned the place so we could feel at home. Pulled furniture out to sweep and clear old candy, wrappers, and dust from under and behind furniture that prior guests left.
The last two days of the visit we had no hot water, luckily its warm there and cold showers weren't TOOOO bad. :( The owner did try to get someone to fix it sooner by couldn’t get anyone right away.
That said, the place was ideally located, lots of great restaurants, harbor watching was the family past time late into the evening. We played games and enjoyed the quiet and peace from busy day. Blue Hole restaurant was our favorite hangout and the food was amazing. We know that sometimes these places are turning over quickly and it may be hard to stay on top of the deep cleaning, but to us that’s important. I don't like going in and cleaning someone else s mess. The bedrooms were clean Plenty of linen for showers and bedding. Plenty of kitchen utensils and the layout was quite comfortable for the six of us. The owners were easy to contact, responded right away. Everyone was so nice and polite. Love the location and the beautiful people and places we visited.
We've stayed at the Regattas before, usually facing the ocean. This time have enjoyed looking out at the harbour, and still only a short walk to the sunnier side. Great kitchen, but Curly Tails is 3 minutes walk if you don't feel like cooking after a strenuous day of working on your suntan☺️
This place was perfect for us! Three of us stayed the first 5 nights and 2 more friends stayed the last two nights. Plenty of room. Great view of the marina from the balcony. Short walk to a little private beach behind the property that we had all to ourselves. Great place to watch the stars at night. Several nice restaurants within walking distance, as well as the ferry to other islands. We rented a car the last two days, but it would have been fine without it. We used a taxi once from the airport ( less than 5 miles away ) and once after grocery shopping at Maxwell's Grocery. Maxwell's was much larger than I expected and had everything we needed. We went to Snappa's for New Years Eve and they had a Junkanoo at midnight. Interesting way to bring in the new year! Also went to Curly Tails and Abaco Beach Resort. Great food at both. Took Albury's Ferry and went to Great Guana Cay to Nippers and then Grabbers. Nice beaches! Also took the ferry to Hope Town. Loved that area! It has a lot of character and so colorful. Drove a rental car to Sandpiper's Inn, a fairly new small community with a great restaurant. The Hog Fish salad was our favorite meal on the trip. It's a 35 minute drive from the condo, but definitely worth it. The last day we drove to Treasure Cay and hung out at CoCo's on a great beach and then hunted down Kirk the Conch Man who parks his truck and trailer at 4:00 daily and sells his fresh conch salad until it's gone. Very relaxing trip and perfect weather. Mid to high 70s all week with a nice breeze. We would all definitely return to Regattas of Abaco Unit 406. The owners, Rhoda and Anthony, were great and quick to respond to any questions.
