First time visitor to Marsh Harbour and used this hotel prior to picking up a Yacht charter. Its ok but nothing special. Very quiet when we were there and its focus seems to be on hosting fishing groups. Rooms are large and motel like and we ate at the bar a couple of time which is fine for snacks. In hindsight I would of travelled on to Elbow Quay (Hopetown ) and bypased Marsh Harbour and this hotel.

The hotel has a run-down feel to it. Decor and plumbing looking old - both sinks in our room leaked. Service is average and staff not particularly friendly. Card system for beach towels exemplifies their lack of customent focus. Food was OK but expensive. Overall a 3 star experience with 5 star prices.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Abaco Beach Resort in the Bahamas. It was absolute paradise. Everyone was so friendly and the Goombay Smashes were crazy great! Food was yummy and our outings on the water were just dreamy. I had never paddle boarded before and seeing turtles darting beneath the board was an out of body experience for this mainland girl....
I will not wait long to revisit this incredible place....

Hi Judy – Thank you for your kind words. We are thrilled to hear that you had the chance to head out on our new Turtle Crawl experience! Even for those of us who live here in the islands seeing sea turtles can still be an out of body experience. We hope it’s not long before your next visit. We’ll have a Goombay Smash ready!

I have been visiting ABR for many years, and the total experience just keeps getting better and better. From the friendly faces at the Front Desk, especially Kevie's warm greeting, to David's welcoming smile on the docks, to the great crew in Angler's and the Tiki Bar, Abaco Beach Resort always welcomes me "home" as only this legendary resort can do. Thank you all for another awesome stay.....counting the days until we return.

Room Tip: Breathtaking views from every room!

After a warm welcome and high expectations upon arrival I have been soundly disappointed by the service during my stay. Despite a facility showing it's age the room was very clean and appears to be recently renovated. All of the rooms also appear to have a nice waterfront view and the resort is conveniently located to restaurants, etc in Marsh Harbour. That said, aside from the welcome, the service is seriously lacking for an establishment that charges $300+/night. After presenting the required "towel chit" to the pool bar, I waited 20 minutes + (and two more requests) for a towel. This was after I was told they were out at 430PM and I would have to find housekeeping if I wanted one. Another request for matches at 930PM was met with confusion as the bell boy had gone home and no one was sure quite where to find them. A call to the front desk inquiring where one might find a phone card in town was responded to by "I am sure somewhere but don't no where …"

I am a boater and am headed on a sailing/fishing trip from here so don't need coddling but a basic level of service and local information at this price shouldn't be a stretch.

I happen to be in Abaco for a few days and stumbled on this jewel surrounded by lush tropical grounds and a picture perfect marina.Perfect for anglers or friends and family looking to explore the Abaco's by boat. Accommodations were well kitted out and super clean. Although not a five star resort, it was simply perfect for an escape for a few days. The food was amazing and even better is their house drink, called 'The Goombay Smash!' Before to have one fore me on your next visit.

I've long wanted to visit The Abacos, having heard of the world class fishing, fantastic diving and snorkeling and authentic out-island experience. I recently spent four nights at the Abaco Beach Resort in Marsh Harbour and I can't wait to get back! Abaco is more accessible than I expected and this charming resort - with its tenured and attentive staff, fabulous food, renovated rooms and beach front setting - has everything but the pretense. It is what The Bahamas used to be...laid back, friendly, economical and surrounded by clear turquoise waters dotted with hundreds of islands and cays. The neighboring, picturesque harbor towns are easily reached by rental boat (which I did) or shuttle ferry. All together, worthy of anyone's bucket list.
