My wife and I stayed at the Lodge earlier this month. We rented an oceanfront cottage named PASSION FRUIT. Although it had a million dollar view, it also had loads of mold. Even the bed and pillows smelled of mold. To make matters worse, the bathroom exuded a sulfur smell, probably from untreated water. For $600 per night, we expected better. We had spent a few days earlier in the week at FIREFLY RESORT and the difference was dramatic! For the same nightly rate, we stayed in a beautiful waterfront villa named MINT FOR TWO. No comparison. We do love the bar and grounds at the Lodge, and Gary the bartender is a jewel. But until a complete renovation takes place, we will reside at FIREFLY and visit the Lodge for happy hour. It breaks my heart to say this but I feel compelled to warn unsuspecting travelers.
