These guys know everything there is to know when it comes to boating in Corfu. Nicholas thanks for giving us a brilliant 2 weeks the days we took out the ribs were superb and the family loved the high speed trips to Corfu town ! - The reach and extendability afforded this time was second to none, get your RYA Powerboat Level 2 and rent a 300HP and go and explore would be my advice ! - make sure you drop into a small cove and enjoy a fantastic greek lunch

See you all soon for more adventures my friends ! _ Howard

Just returned from a days boat hire from Filippos boats in Kassiopi, what a fab day we had.

We collected the boat at 9am, it was very clean and in good condition. We were given a map, that was clearly explained where we could sail to and how we should negotiate the light houses. My husband and son were shown the ropes of how to drive the boat and away we went, very smooth collection no problems at all.
All staff on booking, collection and return were very friendly, polite and helpful, really can't find fault at all.

All the family had a fantastic day, i wpukd highly recommend it, its a great wsy to see some of the hidden coves, which you simply cannot reach apart from by sea. Take a picnic, plenty of water, hats and sun cream! I'd also recommend taking some bread to feed the fish, and snorkels,we had great fun with both.

I wouldn't hesitate to hire a boat from Flippios again, and would happily recommend them to others.

Filippos rent boats from little phut-phuts to powerful speed launches. We have rented a 9 seater chug along several times and it is always the high-point of the holiday. You can go several miles in each direction on a day hire. There are loads of isolated coves only reachable by boat, that are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, sunning yourself or just having a picnic. One thing if you land on a beach don't let the propeller hit the bottom !! Deep doo-doos if that happens.

The boats are dead easy to drive, if I can manage believe me, anyone can. You are given a pre hire demo of the boat and its equipment, kitted out with life vests. You get a map and instructions of where you can and can't go then you are off.

Remember you will have to pay for the fuel you use in addition to the hire so make sure that you are with the guy when he checks it and agree how much you have used. Despite what some have said, this is CLEARLY stated in English on the form that you sign for the hire. If this is a worry ask them what is the most it could be for your boat and they will tell you.

We have never had any issue with the boats, they have always gone fine. One of the guys in charge cruises up and down the coast through the day making sure everyone is ok and keeping an eye on where you get to. Their insurance is limited to a certain section of coast, but there is always one plonker who thinks this does not apply to him / her so they do keep an eye on things.

One thing to be aware of. The sea can be a bit deceptive around the North East corner of Corfu. It can be dead flat in Kassiopi Bay but have bigger waves when you round the headland, also the wind does tend to get up in the afternoons. If they have concerns about the weather then they sometimes will ask you to be back by a certain time. Take it from me, they know what they are talking about, it would be ill advised to disregard what they say.

Some of the very small boats can find it difficult to get anywhere fast into a head-wind, if this happens they come and find you then tow you in if needed.

One tip. Watch out for the hydrofoil to Sarande, they delight in giving you the biggest bow-wave that they can !

Another tip. Get the biggest boat you can afford, the larger ones are much more comfortable, much more fun and do very much better in a choppy sea.

Have fun.
