This has been our second visit to the Alessandro Apartments, We can not fault the level of service that comes as second nature to this fantastic family, they our the best when it comes to making you feel welcome.

They cannot do enough for you,and they are not happy unless you are, Dimitri and Sula are always making sure you have everything that you require, and will even give you a lift to the shops to pick up your shopping for your room.

Rooms clean and adequate equipment for all your self catering needs, you’re a short evening walk from the town of Sidari, Close enough for the lively atmosphere and far enough for the peace and quiet of a relaxing day.

When you leave, you’ll be planning your next visit.

GIVE IT A GO !!!

you won’t be disappointed

Everything was perfect. We were there with 2 children (age 4). There was a beautiful garden with a huge swimming pool and many things to play with in the garden. You can also relax on a chair. You can eat there if you want, they have breakfast and dinner as well. Family dog Beba is really cute as well :) WE will come back!!

Room Tip: The owner is very helpful, he can suggest you the best room :)

Just back on Thursday from Alessandro apartments in Sidari .
Didn't use tour operator did it on our own, been doing this for years now and saves a fortune flew with Ryanair flights from Prestwick to Corfu (sorry fellow passengers I was the Pratt who was first in queue for priority boarding both there and back - i just can’t help myself lol !! daughter was mortified), booked apartment through booking.com and organised taxi on line through email with roda taxis. party of three adults myself , wife and our twenty something daughter, flights cost 256.00 accommodation 348.00 euros taxi 57.00 euros each way
Transfer
Booked taxi through Roda taxis they confirmed by email and driver was standing in arrival area with our name on a board fast efficient service driver put return time etc in diary and they arrived on time to take us back to airport, just paid driver on day both times would recommend Roda Taxis just follow link on their website if its busy they can sometimes take a day to get back to you.
Alessandro Apartments
Ok I make my trip advisor reviews honest and factual to give you an idea of our experiences so I’ll be up front and say that if you like modern sleek apartments/Hotels with all hi tech fittings etc this isn't for you However if you like a bit of Greek charm with an authentic quirky vibe you'll love it , I make no apologies for being bias and saying that we absolutely loved the place.
Location
Realistically you are looking about a 30 minute walk into centre of Sidari if you want to power walk etc you could probably do it in 20 mins.6 euros in taxi
There are a couple of ways you can walk into Sidari, option 1 (the long way took me 3 days to realize this) leave apartments turn right keep walking till you reach large supermarket on right hand side(this is the best place to stock up etc prices cheaper here it is also the nearest to apartments but note its closed on Sundays)about 20 mins walk turn right follow road for about another 10 mins you are now in the centre of Sidari lots shops bars restaurants etc main beach is located next to shops etc lots sun loungers parasols most belong to bars etc and are free to customers however there is a section where you can rent them 4 euros for a lounger 3 for a parasol.
Option 2 from apartment turn right and immediately take the first right down a small track follow this it goes straight on then curves to the right then at end you have a junction where you can go right or left go left (just before this junction there is a house on the right with a large garden and a beware of the dog sign, you think I don’t see a dog then you see this Shetland pony sized dog just basking in the sun looking at you with one eye open going I dare you to climb the fence it never batted an eyelid every time we passed but I sure as hell wouldn't fancy my chances of getting back out if i tried to break in to the house lol !! . Anyway turn left at the junction there is a small shop/ bar here i still haven't figured out its opening hours sometimes you passed and it was open with a couple of old men sitting at bar sometimes it was closed. Follow this road for about 5 mins and you arrive at a beach. This isn’t the main beach there are no sun loungers here but if you are a towel on the sand type its fab we preferred this beach it is sandy and the water is clear and shelves gently just be aware the tide comes right in and sometimes you can’t get onto sand. This is a great little beach you know it’s good when the locals go here just make sure you take drinks snacks etc with you as there is nothing here. If you want main beach and centre of Sidari just follow the beach around, there are a few tavernas etc along front as you get nearer Sidari then loads as you get into Sidari. Just a quick note option 1 the long way isn’t really suitable for walking back at night it’s a busy road and its very dark at night. Walked back along the beach at night and it was well lit most of the way just last stretch was dark but use your phone or torch , most of the time we got taxi back at night.
Option 3 leave apartments turn right keep walking till you come to sign for Dolphin camping turn right here follow road it takes you to the same small beach just the opposite end of it.
Apartments
Alessandro apartments are run by Dimitri and Soula who are two of the hardest working people ive ever met and the welcome we received was very friendly
Dimitri is 75 years old and can still dive in pool and swim full length under water (wtf anybody seen the film cocoon I’m sure he’s found the pods)
Anyway, I digress we had a studio apartment for three it had a double bed and a single sofa bed the apartment wasn’t huge but certainly big enough for all of us
Now here is where you have to chill and let your preconceptions of what a holiday apartment should look like go
The furniture was mismatched a double wardrobe, set of double drawers, 2 bedside cabinets none of it matched !!!! oh no this is terrible, oh wait a minute have I got somewhere to hang my clothes up and put stuff in drawers eh yes I have ok all good IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT CO-ORDINATES WITH EACH OTHER.
Kitchen equipment was basic unit with 2 ring hob microwave small fridge but had kettle toaster, toastie machine lots of utensils plates but guess what none of them matched but who cares there was plenty equipment to make breakfast, lunch snacks even dinner if you want ,and unlike any other apartment I have stayed in there was basic items like salt pepper cleaning cloths tea towels washing up liquid all provided to me that was better than having everything colour co-ordinated
The bathroom was small and clean there was a shower cubicle but no shower curtain or even a rail for the shower mixer but again go with the flow you have a shower just hold the shower head easy, are you getting the vibe now
We had a ground floor apartment and the terrace was very large, (all the apartments look on to the pool area by the way) with a large dining table with four chairs on it also at the back door where you enter apartment there was another table with chairs where you could sit, this was excellent as it meant if you wanted a bit of peace and quiet you could sit at the back table.
The pool was of a good size for the size of the complex it isn’t a large complex but consists of two buildings one is alessandro the other is marylin apartments but both run by same people
The pool area was clean and pool cleaned daily, there is a small children’s pool but be aware the large pool is deep at the top end so keep an eye on children, there are lots of toys etc around a large lawn for the kids to play with, it is an ideal complex for small children and is popular with families so if you don’t like children running around playing then this isn’t for you, but children’s laughter is infectious and can’t help but make make you smile I have to be honest my children are grown up and usually id be a grumpy old git but just something about the whole family vibe about this place the noise of the children just adds to it
Sunbeds- there are some good wooden ones and some old plastic ones so have to be honest they could be better but again go with the flow accept it for what it is, usually no problem getting a sunbed but on couple days we had the usual brit family hogging them all in a group .
There is a small bar area and while there is no formal menu you can get pizza etc some evenings Dimitri will put the barbeque on or soula will cook a local dish , we didn’t try any of this as we tended to go into Sidari at night but we certainly will next time
Summary
The most important thing I have to mention in my review is the welcome you receive and the way that the hosts will go out of their way to make your holiday enjoyable
These apartments won’t be to everyone’s taste if your used to the modern faceless Spanish apartments it is a bit of a culture shock but the place has a quirky homely feel to it it is just like staying with your Greek uncle and aunt
I am by no means being disrespectful when I joke about mismatched furniture and lack of shower rail etc I just want to be honest and factual but if you can get past this you will love the place
Oh, nearly forgot 2 important things the wi-fi and air conditioning are free no rip of surcharges the wi-fi worked well in our room at the front of it and on the front balcony but a bit patchy at back door but this was better than most apartments I’ve stayed in where usually its only available in reception
One serious point by being independent and not going through a tour operator the money is going directly to the local business the Greek economy is struggling and whilst I’m not going to get all political it is peoples livelihood and businesses that are struggling to survive and you only have to look around you when you are here to see how hard they work
So to conclude these apartments are not going to be to everyone’s taste , we have travelled to a fair few countries and stayed in some pretty plush hotels but we absolutely loved this place and I would definitely recommend it we will definitely go back
Just a quick side-line here we have been to Greece a good few times but had always avoided Sidari because I thought it had a tacky touristy image and we only chose Sidari as it was a last minute get away and that’s all we could get but I could not have been more wrong Sidari was lovely lots shops bars restaurants but none of it in the magaluf type way yes there were greeters outside bars etc but it was more of a “ hello sir have a good evening “ none of it was pressurised
On a final note Dimitri I told you I would write a review
Lots of people stay at the Alessandro apartments but don’t take the time to write a review if you like it share it and if you don’t then say why

Room Tip: all rooms have pool view

Dimitri and family were very welcoming upon arrival and throughout our stay, great family run hotel/apartments. Great place to enjoy your holiday as it's very quite and close to sidari nightlife.
Strongly recommend staying.
