The Resort was wonderful. Everybody was very very kind. We liked the people there a lot! On Koh Yao Yai are a lot of things to explore. The food was perfect. And there are the most beautyful sunsets. We are going again for sure!

Location is perfect for a getaway from the city life, but beware it takes good 2 hours to reach from Phuket International Airport so plan your trip accordingly , we had an early morning flight and had to check out one day earlier without a refund which was a let down because of poor planning :( none the less food is great the restaurant has a great view of the beach , Beach is clean and they have a in house arrangement for diving snorkeling and sight seeing.

Happy Holidays People !

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the beach have the best view

Stayed for 3 nights in a beach front pool villa (8400thb net), resort itself is nestled away from
the crowded Tourism areas of phuket as expected.

Downsides: barely anything to do on koh yao yai. I did a cycling round trip around the island, thats about it besides water sport activities. However everything is charged even the use of kayak. Bed was super hard. Food quality was average price/value ratio overpriced. Especially the breakfast was lacking creativity. Transportation offered by the hotel about 2x the price if you arrange by yourself (public means). Service mind is lacking (e.g. had to move the room and was first told i could stay if the new guest would not turn up. As the guest didnt turn up i could choose to stay for an additional 4500 baht it was 4pm already).

Upsides: you will be really cast away and see the local people living far below average standards (i believe the lowest quintile of the income group), friendly staff you can speak thai with, detox from busy commercialized cities

In a nutshell worth to stay for the experience, but not at that price tag again. (2000-3000thb max)

This hotel is situated in southern part of the island so there is really absolute peaceful surroudings. The best choice if you want take a rest after your vacations in rush pukhet or another part of krabi ... There is possibility to visit a few local small islands, but there is limited options for eating outside of the hotel or shoping ... You have to use motorbike rental - outside cca 4o meters from the hotel gates is cheaper ... Hotel restaurant is quite good and the prices are accetable , really nice during sunsets because its just on the beach... The beach is very nice but there is problem with low tide as in the other parts of krabi province. I would definitly recomand this hotel for couples and those who want jast relaxing or for any travelers but just for a few days. You can get there by speed boat from / to ao nang or pukhet+ taxi from pier to hotel cca 500 bath. Price for speedboat is 6oo bath per pax (4o min from aonang) local ferry small boat for 15o bath per pax. (1h15min to aonang with local citizens) ... Stuff is nice and cheerful.

Very nice and relaxing resort with a nice pool and good food...
The rooms are very comfortable and staff is friendly.
There is not much to do around the resort but it is ideal if you want to relax for a few days.

GloW Elixir is nice medium size resort with good amenities. The staff is very friendly and though they struggle with their English their intentions are spot on. The rooms are not big, but they did meet our expectations. The beach on which this resort is located is coral beach. The entire coral reef is visible during the low tide and is not a very pleasant sight. The dining area is excellent. We are vegeterians and hence had issues with food. We barely survived. Koh Yao Yai is a bit isolated so it will charm you or disappoint you depnding on what you prefer. Avoid spa if possible.

My girlfriend and I treated ourselves to this place for some luxury at the end of our 3 week trip to Thailand.

When we arrived we were offered a welcome drink which was a lovely gesture however it was very sugary and not to our taste.

We had some lunch before we checked into our room which was lovely. The tables and chairs by the beach offer a perfect view of the ocean and the food was tasty if however a little cold when it arrived.

We were shown to our room and we were both delighted by what we saw, tradition thai style bungalow with outside shower, the bed was comfortable, nicely decorated.

The pool is lovely, however the decking around it seems worn out by the sun and could use some restoration.

Late afternoon when we went back to get ready for the evening we found the room had heated up dramatically with the afternoon sun despite the aircon being on maximum. We contacted the front desk and they sent someone to look at it. We were told that the minimum it could go to was 23 degrees but it was fixed which we were a little disappointed about as we like it colder.

That night I hardly slept because the air-con was very noisy (making a squeaking sound) and I was too warm for the duvet provided.

The following evening after a day by the pool we went back to shower and get ready and again the air-con couldn't cope with the heat. After our cold shower we shortly began to sweat again.. not ideal. We contacted reception and were moved rooms, making us practically miss the last sunset we hoped to see in Thailand.

The next room had the same problem and the air-con wouldn't go below 25 degrees!

We spoke to the manager explaining our disappointment and he said he would send an engineer to look at it and get back to us. He also offered us a glass of white wine each compliments of the hotel, which unfortunately arrived near the end of our meal and was warm :(. The dinner was delicious however :).

The manager never got back to us and in our opinion the air-con hadn't changed so doubt that anyone looked at it after all. Subsequently we had another bad night sleep.

Guys... You need to splash out on some up to date air-con units!

The staff were lovely, always greeting us with a smile and have to say our transport to the airport by private boat and taxi was great.
