“Wouldn't go back, was ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2012

Giving the overall rating a 3 is at a push.
Me and my girlfriend and parents stayed in this hotel on the 26th Sept to 3rd of October 2012.
We arrived at about 8:50PM in the evening and was greeted lovely by the reception staff.
The hotel is well presented when you walk in, its very spacious.
Me & my girlfriend was given a room on the 5th floor over looking the sea. The sea view was lovely although to the left of us we had a big view of a wall and on an evening about 200 pigeons asleep on the various levels.
The room we had was a superior one and was lovely and clean and very modern, right up until the point that I found the air vents leaded off into other rooms on the floor.
The problem with this is that the vent at the very top had access to the rooms across from us and to the side, so that when people in the other room had their light on, talking or TV on, we heard everything and had light shining in our dark room (not my girlfriend, she had earplugs).
Music seemed to start every morning at 09:50 usually which if you have a lie in and a room located as ours were you could get woken up by that (always seemed to be high school musical).
The beds are very hard as well I found.
The maids also seem to come round quite early and we weren't given a "do not disturb" sign.

The food at the hotel was naff, it was always luke warm and that was with being first in the door.
I had a try of most stuff and some food was ok, others was inedible.
The hotel has an al-a-carte restaurant which if you ask the manager (small man usually near the restaurant door) he would give you a token when you book in. The food was hot and there was plenty from it. Definitely worth booking in there to try it.

The beach was nice, but very pebley. You will see a lot of planes flying over and this can be a bit of a nuisance at night as sometimes they can be every 5 minutes for 25 minutes. I got woken up a lot.

There is a couple of bar/cafe/restaurants around that you can nip to. One being Billy's Bar, which the people there are lovely and food & drink is reasonably priced.
Another restaurant is at Seaview Studios just a 5 minute walk up the road. Its a pool bar with apartments but they also have a restaurant and the food is lovely and reasonably priced.

The hotel also has a car hire company (Galaxy) on site. We was able to get 2 Chevrolet Matiz cars for 4 days for 65 Euro's each which was bartered down.

All in all it was Ok but definitely would not go back again just down to the room noise and food let downs.

Room Tip: Get a room on 3rd, 4th or 5th (Superior rooms)

We been there for a week and we arrived in the late night. The ceck-in was awful, we booked a room with a see view and they gave to us a room with garden view. We complained about and they said that was the only room available but the room didn't have towels, soup and was for 4 people, we are a couple!!! They gave to us a room with see view the day after. The food was nothing special and I think that the buffet is very boring and doesn't have a nice rotation. The service was good when we tried the a la carte restaurant. The best thing that I remember is the french animation, very cheerfull and friendly people.
It says that is a 4 star hotel but i think that can be a nice 3 star. Very old building but with a very nice location on the see. We've been to the S.p.a. and we had a massage, the bulding it looks like when they never finished the rastiling work. If they want be a 4 star hotel they must do something better....

Room Tip: Don't book a superior room because you will overpay it and the room is exactly the same than a s...

I had read a few reviews about the hotel andi the food in particular being bad before staying at Doreta Beach. We arrived on the 24th September and the weather was gorgeous! I have to say I found the resort, hotel and food (considering its an all inclusive buffet) to be excellent. The room was cleaned on a daily basis without fail, the pool area was spotless clean with the beach a stones throw away. There seemed to be plenty of entertainment for families with activities and shows everyday but I wanted peace and quiet so didnt take part. The restaurant put on a number of theme nights including a Greek buffet, Italian buffet and International buffet and for mass produced buffet food was very good (however if your looking for pie and chips like some reviewers seem to have been, its not for you). The villiage of Theologos where the hotel is situated is beautiful and has an excellent Taverna, the food here was the best Greek food I have eaten, well worth the walk into the village and there is a very nice little bar called Bella Vista a short walk from the hotel which is well worth a visit and if your looking for a place to watch the football and get your fix of English food there is a place called Dundees offering all that. The bus service into Rhodes Town is punctual, regular and cheap and there is a taxi pickup just outside the hotel. Overall I had a fantastic holidayand am already looking forward to going back. I would recommend it to anyone!

We stayed at Doreta Beach from the 12th September for a week. Our room was minimalistic, which is a Greek thing and wasn't a problem we had what we needed and the bathroom had been refurbished. The only problem was that the room was opposite the lift and people are never quiet late at night. The food was brilliant and the pool area and sunbeds were great. The beach was lovely although you will need some sort of footwear as the sea is stoney. As the previous review, most of the staff were on strike on our last day, but I would have been on strike too if I hadn't been payed for the last three months!!! There was food being cooked every meal as the managers had taken over the kitchens. Yes the tables weren't getting cleared s quickly and we did go to Billy's for our meal before we flew home. The staff were very apologetic but had good cause for their action. We hired a car from the hotel and went to Lindos and Rhodes, both are a must. We had a lovely time ... a holiday is what you make it !

Room Tip: If you do book Doreta Beach ask for an upgrade, before you go, to the 3rd, 4th or 5th floor,

day we got here was amazed at how clean & modern the hotel was it was stunning! - first our room wasnt ready so they put us up in a apartment right on the beach which we were pleased about. They gave us our safe for free for the whole week as a way of saying sorry. food was basic & i got told off for gettin food from the childrens area, all i wanted was chips! -staff are very pleasant. They werent to keen on the english, always got served last & even got told off for laughing to loud!. The entertainment team try there hardest, they get EVERYONE involved! last day at Doreta, they had a STRIKE! all the staff walked out as they werent being paid, so there was no food for our breakfast dinner or tea & no drinks throughojut the day! We were disgusted & glad to have left the day we did! DONT GO HERE DEFINATLY NOT A 4* more like 2*....

Room Tip: apartments on the beach lovely! but still would never go back here! & maids do an excellent job...

Me and my Mum (28 and 65) have just got home from the Doreta Beach Hotel after a 10 day all inclusive holiday. My more recent holidays have been to Barbados, Bali and Singapore 5* so I was a bit concerned about this resort. Mum doesn't like travelling so Rhodes it was.
The hotel is great, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. On site there is a shop, spa, and wifi in the reception. There was a hair dryer in the room and a fridge.
The pool area is gorgeous although you have to be up early for a lounger by the pool! The beach is stony but great. A pair of shoes to walk in the sea in are advisable. The bars and staff are great and there are plenty of drinks options.
The food was amazing - Greek and local. If you want pizza and chips then you will hate it but if you like to try all sorts then you will love it. Lunch, snacks and dinner all great. Ice cream available by the pool and the beach.
Ten days of relaxing, drinking, eating and brilliant weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and a nice breeze to keep the heat off.
Go and you will have an amazing holiday

Room Tip: sea/pool view is a must because there is a great view
