Simply the worse hotel we have every stayed in.. The food absolutely dreadful - we had to eat out after a few days, so paying for AI was a waste of money. Nothing works (TV, lights..) no hot water, no bracket to hold shower up (you can see where it used to be!), no shampoo, only one plug on a chain to share with bath and sink but didn't fit either of them, no safe - you have to pay E15 for a tin box with a key at reception. The pool was good but loads of trip hazards. The emergency escape doors were locked! Lots of stairs, no good if you aren't very nimble, especially up to the canteen (sorry, I mean restearant!) The staff were generally very nice, except the manager who kept complaining about the number of complaints he got. We wittnessed a funny incident where a group of elderly English ladies frogmarched him off to their rooms to convince him of their problems.
We liked the position of the hotel which was basically rural but only 10 mins to the shops, 15 mins (uphill) to the lovely village of Tholos and about 20 mins to the beach. THE BEACH IS NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN or anyone not too steady on their feet - the shallows contain mounds of moving rocks and in parts drop very quickly to around 4/5 feet deep at which there is some sand in places, but it is a really horrible place to swim - always windy and quite rough, very good for kite and sail boards, which are entertaining to watch.

Room Tip: Keep well away from the food, we saw the 'chef' smoking in the kitchen, the food is kept at...

Once again l visited Summer Dreams accompanied by my son his partner and their two children aged 4 and 5mths. Onve sgain it was simply the best. We got a late deal and to say we had value for money is an under statement. The food was fine (healthy) but there is a lot more choice later in the season. The 4yr old ate his fill of rice, chicken, and pasta his favourite foods. I'm biased I love their cooking. Rooms cleaned every day. Fresh linen and towels when requested as well as normal change . Pool bar brill. Jonis is a breath of fresh air himself (bar man). Each and every one of the staff are wonderful and so helpful. No its not the Ritz. But we were treated as if we were at the Ritz. Thank you, all of you for a wonderful week. Mrs Bell and family 4-11june 2014.

We arrived at the hotel, and were shown to our room. Bearing in mind we had booked a two bedroomed apartment, this room had a double bed, and a bunk bed right next to it. That was it! I said it wasn't what we'd booked, so miraculously a two bedroomed apartment was found for us. The state of the apartment was run down, and one of the sheets on the bed was stained.

The 'restaurant' was like a canteen, and the food was okay ish.

However, on saying this we did have a great holiday and enjoyed getting the local bus into Rhodes. And the beach was nice too. We didn't really spend much time in the apartment apart from sleeping so for us it didn't matter too much.

You do not, under any circumstances want to stay at this hotel! I think the only thing I have to say that's good is the friendly staff.
First of all, as soon as we got to the hotel they told us there was no room, even though we had booked months before! So they sent us to Livana hotel for the night, which was so much better, making us not want to go back. When we asked if we could switch to that hotel they claimed there was 'no room' but then when we returned to Summer Dream, we watched them send at least 10 more families there. We soon found out that this was because they was allowing people to pay €20's to keep their room for a couple hours longer when they was meant to check out, obviously they care more about the money than the customers.
Secondly, they say they have free wifi, yes it is free but not very wireless, you can only get connection if you're sat right next to the router and even then it's really bad! If more than two people are connected to it, it will just disconnect you! And when you pay €2's for 40 minutes on the computer, for 30 minutes it doesn't work.
Next, the dining area is no place to eat at all, there is no air con so not only are you suffocating to death when you are trying to eat, but it's full of flies due to the window having to be open. It is disgusting, they land on your food and fly around your head. Also, they don't label the food, so you have no idea what you are eating, one night I had something that I thought was chicken then later that day I was told it was seagull. If you're a vegetarian there is nothing to eat, unless you want to live off leaves and ice cream.
If you have children, it is not fit or safe for them at all. There is a big hole in the children's pool and it is really sharp and deep. The rooms are vile, the floor under the bed has never been hoovered or mopped. There is a bunk bed and on the top bunk, there is only a tiny rail to stop you from falling off, not safe at all.
I came here hoping to spend only €500's but the hotel was such a horrible atmosphere to be in, we went out most day and nights. Therefore we ended up spending more than double than what we expected. I really would not recommend this hotel, yes you get what you pay for, but the standards should be a lot higher, my mother payed for me (15) my little brother (4) herself and her husband and we spent over £2000 to get there, if you're paying that you expect it to be decent standards.
There is no entertainment at the hotel of an afternoon at all, only karaoke once a week, which is rubbish. On the website they say all alcoholic beverages are from 10.15am to 10.30pm, this is a lie! We got there hoping to have a nice cocktail around the pool but the cocktails do not start until 6pm.
If you do stay in the same area, because all of the other hotels are beautiful, I would recommend going Dundees bar, it's close to all the hotels and has excellent food and cocktails! Also the owners and majority of workers are English as its an Australian bar, they have karaoke of a night and the atmosphere is wonderful. The nicest hotel in Theologos, the best hotel to go to would be Alex Beach Hotel or Doreta Spa.

I don't usually give a review about a hotel, but this time i will. Like you I read the previous negative reports and had some trepidation prior to arriving. We were there between 21st Sept and 5th October 2013. I have no doubt that the people who have complained have offered an honest opinion but in truth all was pretty much fine for us. Nice people, good and varied food, clean pool, lots of laughs and not too far from the beach. The room was basic but apart from a blocked sink one day all was fine. The electrics look old and a bit sad and the TV didn't work, but we didn't want it anyway. It's true about having a hotplate but no pans and the mixer tap was poorly fixed, but there was a large fridge. Now, the glasses; this continues to be a problem in the dining room and when new glasses arrive they are so hot from the dish washer you can't pick them up. So easy to rectify is this and we were surprised they hadn't. We always got big smiles from the serving staff, especially for our 3 year old son; Mike was always very pleasant and danced on the karaoke night (we're not karaoke types but as this was the only organised entertainment, just one night a week, we went anyway); the bar staff in the lounge and the pool were always pleasant and the pool barman made a great joke about being squirted with water by our son. The kid's playground was very popular but all a bit tatty now and needs to be safer. The snacks at the pool bar are uninspiring except for the chocolate cake one day. The comments made by others about restricting the number of drinks served did not happen to us. We were there at the end of the season (the hotel in fact closed the day after we left) and this meant the food was less varied for a couple of days and the chocolate ice cream ran out.
So, we see where the other comments have come from but please be reassured this hotel is good value for money, very personable, easily accessible to the beach which is sand with some pebbles, but we found many people swimming including our 3 year old son. Rhodes is a windy place at times which brings in the breakers, but this is part of the spectacle and a beautiful sight to see. The bus ride to Rhodes Town is hectic but be sure you get on one stop before the Alex Hotel otherwise you stand the whole way. Coming back is also a free for all. Hire a car through the hotel as we did and travel down the west side to the south. This is just wonderful with beautiful landscapes, history, and welcoming people. Rhodes is a big treat, as is Lindos even in the rain as it was for us and with an overdose of tourists. Parking is a big problem too. In our view avoid the built up tourist overkill south of Rhodes Town on the east side which looked pretty crass to us. The weather we had was very comfortable, probably reaching about 30 degrees on a couple of days but otherwise around 26 degrees with bright sun, blue sky and a refreshing breeze. We had rain one day, with a storm the following morning and the last two days were cooler with strong winds. The other thing to mention is the power plant which is an eyesore and when viewed from the butterfly park clearly creates a pollution cloud. The planes also fly past on takeoff but this fascinated our son rather than creating an intrusion. The blurb mentioned a Kids Club but this wasn't offered. The air football though was a great hit.
So, we hope we can remove some of the doubts you may have. This is no frills venue and in many ways being relieved of the in-your-face "entertainment" that is forced upon you at the bigger establishments it may well be more to your liking. This is an all inclusive hotel and believe me the food is good. It is Greek in style but to us this is a benefit, despite the chips. You will want to wander further, as we did, but you find this wherever you go and Rhodes is accessible throughout with lots to see. Overall we rate it very good.
S and B.

We stayed at the Summer Dream Hotel between 19-24th September 2013. We found this hotel to be very pleasent, relaxing and fun. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful, especially Michalis.
The hotel is very close to the beach, it has a nice pool with a very good bar. The food in the hotel is also tasty and diverse. In the evening, there is a nice bar open. Overall, the hotel is not a fancy one, but rather a basic good hotel which can ensure you great holiday. We recomment it highly!!!

Firstly may we apologise to all you people who had taken the time to write a review with the negative comments that my husband and I just basically thought "as well as a lot of other people do" it can't be that bad - and if it was - so what - your holiday is what you make of it"" well - I am one of those people who doesn't use face book etc - but let me just say say that I really / really wish that we had taken more note of your comments. Honestly - if you choose to read this review or not - I will feel a lot better knowing that I had passed the following information on to you. If you are thinking of booking this hotel - then do look at other options first - where can we begin! Having arrived at Summer Dreams hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning 15.09.13, My husband and I were told that the hotel was fully booked and that there was no room available for us but they would try find us another hotel - on making phone calls one was found. We were then put in the back of a van (literally) and transferred to this hotel. No sorry or apologies whatsoever - just bye and we will let you know if a room becomes available, The Manager at the Hotel who took us in was so apologetic for our inconvenience, he himself really did make us feel welcome, over the next few days we built a great rapport with him and he told us confidentially that there were hotels in the area that deliberately overbooked rooms so that if they got cancellations - they could fill their rooms anyway with backups! - But - and I mean BUT!! if there are no cancellations and no rooms are spare - they pass the customer to one of the other hotels to fill their rooms. He told us the names of the hotels - one being " Happy days". The hotel we were put in was not one of these hotels but that they had received many calls as a last resort for stranded English holiday makers. To cut a long story short - the hotel who took us in - were fully booked from the Thursday and we had to find alternative accommodation - they contacted Summer Dreams Hotel each day but still no room available, on the Thursday morning when our room was needed, we sat in the reception area with our bags packed and were told from the Hotel reception that someone from Summer Dreams was coming to pick us up at 10am to take us there - at last - a room for us - um!! so we thought - they turned up at 12:10. On arrival we were told our room wasn't available but if we could hang around for a few hours they could try and sort one out - we were so angry and upset - we said no and that there must be something - the reception lady told us there was a holding room were we could stay for the time being and she took us to it - it was shockingly awful but what other choice did we have? - I can't begin to tell you how bad it was - we walked in the room and in total despair sat down - she said that we could have it for now - my husband said we could not be moved anymore and that we would stay here - we only had three days left anyway. She left us there and that was that - no curtains or anything, we hung up our beach towels at the window so we could get changed, we were on the ground floor with no balcony so totally exposed!! This day was a big wedding anniversary for us and we were so upset and extremely disappointed and felt very let down. Things went from bad to worse from here although the cleaning ladies left some flowers next to our anniversary cards which was kind of sweet - but that could not make amends to the nightmare we had had all week. Highlight of our holiday - meeting and spending time with such a great bunch of people from Liverpool. As far as the hotel go's - never ever ever again. J & G.
