Stayed here for the first week in July. The Hotel was clean but basic, needs a face lift in places. Our beds where made daily and towels changed 3 times in the week, However although the cleaning ladies where the only friendly staff there they did fall short of cleaning the bathroom, come on girls!!
I was shocked that some people have made comment to the food being good , what on earth do you eat at home? I was disgusted at the food, but not going to harp on as I'm just repeating what many others have already said on here. IT WAS AWFUL!
Even though the Hotel is small there seemed to be a shortish of glasses, god forbid if you went for a drink without taking an empty glass with you to have refilled unwashed! The barman never smiled and seemed to be annoyed that they had customers there in the first place. I'm Diabetic thus suffer with terrible thurst, at 9.40am I was refused a soft drink as the all inclusive didn't start until 10.30. Shame on you!!
I'm aware the Hotel read these messages as a member of staff asked another visitor when leaving please say something nice. The only nice thing was the weather and the lovely people we met Thanks Mark & Vicky x

IoannisG, Manager at Nirvana Beach Hotel, responded to this review, 12 July 2011
I would like to thank the customer for the review posted, because even a negative feedback opinion always helps us realize what could or should be improved.
About the meals, i would like to express that in contrast to some of the published reviews, there is indeed a great number of people expressing not only in reviews but verbally as well, to the hotel's administration their satisfaction for the meals offered, but of course, opinion on that matter is highly subjective and therefore all opinions expressed, both positive and negative, are accepted, evaluated and product is being modified in the way that it will satisfy the majority if not all customers, who inevitably happen to originate from a diversity of nations and are therefore affected in various ways by the meals offered.
About the referred refusal of hotel's staff to provide a drink required in relation to a health matter, i must say that hotel's management was not aware of that unexcused event and that administration would have definitely and willingly intervened if the costumer had directly expressed that complaint to the hotel's management. In any case, hotel's administration would like to apologize and to ask you to consider that delicate matter as an exceptional event as staff is clearly directed and now re-directed to override any functional regulation if health issues make it necessary.
Sincerely
Manager of Nirvana

My wife and I have just returned home from a very pleasent 2 week holiday. The hotel was very clean with fresh towels everyday. The rooms were typically greek (basic but comfortable). There was mosquito screens on the patio doors, also a hairdrier and tv were provided. My wife is a very fussy eater but was always able to have a decent meal. However in the all-inclusive bar you only got beer, wine and soft drinks but after 9.30pm all cocktails and spirits were buy one get one free (4 euro) We found all staff friendly and helpful. We had a very chilled out and relaxing holiday here and was very satisfied with everything for the price we paid. The only people who seem to complain are the British, who seem to think they should get 5 star, in that case go to a 5 star and pay for it. The only let down was the beach which was pebbles which we knew about before we booked but you cannot blame this onto the hotel.

me and my friend arrived at the hotel lunch time, 1st impressions were ok, the hotel looked basic but it seemed to have all that we needed and was close to the beach, our room was not ready so we went to get some lunch, there was not much of it left and it was cold but we thought we must have just got to the end of service, as we found out over the following week the food was always luke warm unless you were to catch it as soon as it came out of the kitchen. My friend and i are not fussy eaters and the food was nice at times, but very repetative, past, rice, past, rice, boiled to death veg and salad, good job we like pasta. Breakfast was very basic, bread, hard boiled eggs, and each day a grizzly surprise on the hot plate. All in all the food was ok, we did not go hungry, however if you are a fussy eater be warned its not the place for you.

Now then the not so all inclusive bar, if you are a british customer you only get beer, wine and soft drinks, not really all inclusive at all, russians and germans got what they like. I like wine and even though it comes from a box and is about 8% proof it does the job, the beer was wet fizzy, did the job and lemonade is lemonade, the disapointment of the not so all inclusive bar was made worse by the fact the hotel has the most rude, angry, job hating bar man i have ever met, he was about enthusiastic about his job as Boy George on community service. We were ordered by him to bring"back your glass", which would have been fine had my friend not been still drinking out of it, i know this is a 2* hotel but manners costs nothing. the bar closes at 22.30 too, sometimes earlier depending on the mood of the bar man.

The rooms were basic but fine, the cleaners do a reat job and are very friendly, alwas clean towels. The TV 's in the room are a bit naff, however we got some films at night, which was good as there is no entertainment in the evening at the hotel. The pool was ok, sunbeds were available. Air con is not included in the all inclusive, it costs an extra $5 a day.

The other staff at the hotel seemed unhappy most of the time, it was rare to see a smile, but bless them they were there all day. Nicholas the night manager is a character, when we arrived he had gray hair, the next he was jet black, he is a funny bloke and goes out of his way for you, its a shame the others were not just a little bit more like him, he should have the barman's job really. However girls, he does try to get a bit fruity!!!

Overall we did enjoy our holiday, it was a nice quiet hotel and as we had only paid £250 each for the week, we were not expecitng much, and we didnt get much, but we were happy. We were glad to have made some friends at the hotel which may the stay more enjoyable., cheers Emily and Lee.

Get the bus to Rhodes town, its about 30-45mins away and costs 2.5$ also i would go on a day trip to Symi Island, it was amazing its a $20 ferry trip which takes all day.

Well where do I start......we went to the nirvana beach hotel thinking it was going to be a lovely traditionally run Greek hotel....we left thinking never again!!!
The food is inedible mostly...however they would occasionally pull out the stops and it would be edible but generally cold!! Kept warm by a tealight candle! Me and my bf ended up spending £400 on food alone in 2 weeks! Breakfast consisted of cold beans, boiled egg and a stale old roll! I survived on Greek yoghurt!
Lunch was the only upside and we eagerly went in at 12:30 to get a hot meal - a standard of prob a 3* but about as Greek as Macdonalds!
Dinner consisted of cauliflower or broccoli, and rice, boiled potatoes which were either undercooked and could break windows or overcooked!
Chicken legs were a favourite from the chef or maybe a pork chop! Occasionally they would pull it out the bag and do a meat stew!! Both my bf and I are NOT fussy eaters but this was a joke!
We ended up eating at mikes and billys to be honest mike is friendly but billys is so much better the food is outstanding! The cocktails were also superb!
The drinks situation.....well if u like watered down chilled red wine, syrupy flat coke, lemonade without the lemon, and to be fair the beer is ok..... coffee and water and watered down orange juice (only at restricted times) then this is the hotel for you!!
The rep....katrina or should I say katerina was a absolute joke size 28 and with food all down her discoloured shirt she should be working in Macdonalds because she has no idea about what customer service is! We complained to her about the lack of all inclusive...you had to phone her which ended up costing me and my bf £70 she said she could spare 5 minutes she met us and didn't know the all inclusive option for that hotel so she would get back to us....she never did so we phoned her, she said in the very small print its beer and wine....which should be all day and it wasn't..we have since checked and it should be spirits also!!! I filled out a complaints form and I needed a copy to take back to the uk.....she promised me right up to the day I was leaving she would bring it and never did! I phoned her frequently asking for it.....she didn't bring it and was dam right rude!
The barman Bon jovi was so miserable.....and will take out his foul moods on u for instance shut the bar early when u want a drink.....not sure why he is miserable as he has a twenty something beautiful blond gf and he is about 50 with long wild hair like a bear!
Nicolas however should be running the joint absolute legend works 11pm till 7am! Full of life and will give u drinks when bon jovi has gone!! Bit Pervy tho!!
The cleaners are adorable and we wanted to take them home they work Sooooo hard and are always smiling!!
The pool never got cleaned in 2 weeks don't think they had anyone employed to even do it!
When we stayed there the 16th June - 30th June, there were mainly Russians who were allowed to drink anything at any time and do not say please or thankyou, change their clothes or queue!!
There were also an Italian family who thought they run the joint they got teapots and their table, and the kid was treated like a king from all staff! They were provided with there every whim! We did sit at THEIR table several times on purpose and if looks could kill!!
All in all we made best of it and made our own entertainment! And also didn't see a cloud for a fortnight! Hello to everyone who stayed from June 16th to 30th!
The sun worshippers!!!!

Nirvana originates in Buddhism meaning a state of eternal happiness! Not too sure I can agree to that statement but we certainly had a very relaxing and enjoyable break. Ok, it'snot 5 star but we didn't pay for that. The rooms were clean and adequate, no tea/coffee making facilities but have not had this in many 3* hotels abroad. A little disappointed that no spirits included in the all inclusive and did get a little bored with the tasteless lager and wine. The barman was quite unpleasant and, to be honest, downright rude at times but all of the other staff were great. Never spoke to the owner but he always acknowledged us when we met in corridors etc. The lady, I think it;s his wife, behind the desk was helpful and friendly and the night porter was a real character - they should put him behind the bar to lift the atmosphere. The food was adequate and we never went hungry - been to worse!! You get used to the planes overhead and they didn't affect our relaxation at all. The pool was lovely and plenty of sunloungers - the only downside was the flies which seemed to like any insect repellent that you used - take a citronelle candle with you - maybe that would work!! Didn't spend any time at the beach - very shingly and nothing there at all. The small town of Tholos was lovely with a few supermarkets and bars. As previously mentioned in reviews would definately recommend Mike's - lovely friendly guy and the food is superb - even if you only dine out once. The hotel is handy for the bus routes into Rhodes town which is well worth a visit. I would say the biggest downside was absolutely nothing on in the evenings at the hotel which made it a little boring!! This is where a character barman would come in handy!! We ended up playing cards most nights with early nights - but on the plus side it meant we were up early in the mornings to get plenty of sunshine!! All in all a very reasonable holiday for a very reasonable price! Don't bother paying for transfers - a taxi is easily available at the airport and costs around 14 euro. A tip for getting hot (well as hot as it gets) food is to be in the dining room at opening time!!!
