Forget the negative reviews - our family holiday with friends was great! A friendly, family run hotel with people who could do enough for us. They even helped us learn some greek and educated us about Greek food, dancing and the culture of the island. Really enjoyable stay.

Just got back from a brilliant 10 day holiday here. It is a well run hotel by a friendly & caring family. We were greeted warmly by Lucas, the son, who even took my suitcase to our room. The room was basic, clean & air conditioned (for an additional 5 euro per night-well worth it). The room was cleaned regularly and clean towels delivered every other day. The parents/owners, Peter & Dorothea, were friendly with a good sense of humour, my husband enjoyed a bit of banter with Peter re his liking of their beer! They said goodbye to us, as with every other guest we saw leave. The chef was friendly and helpful too, we liked most of the menu choices - he also said goodbye to us. I was impressed with Lucas when he got everyone involved in their Greek dancing/bbq night, which was great fun. Also, especially when he cared for my son when he had a nose bleed. The other guests were a good bunch & we enjoyed lots of chats & laughs. Only downside was their grandchildren, who were a nuisance in the pool - we had to tell them to stop splashing numerous times & annoyingly they thought they could take guests stuff i.e. lilos, balls, goggles etc. After reading other reviews I was expecting the worst but, honestly, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (didn't even mind the planes overhead) & were sad to leave. We'd love to go back.

Had a Fab holiday, if i was the kind of person to go back to the same place twice i would definatly go back to the Georgia hotel!
Please save yourself some money though.... do not book a transfere to the hotel it is only 5-10 minutes up the road and thier is a bus that goes though the airport and also taxi's availiable.
Planes do pass over at regular intervals but it did not bother us and none of the other guest ever commented on it disturbing them either.
Our room was clean and serviced daily, towels were changed every other day.
Air con 5 euro's / day well worth it, but if you open your doors the wind does whistle thorugh and until we wanted to elimimate ALL mosquito's this worked really well.
Food was good only one evening meal on a two week hoilday that wasn't to our taste however, if you want a British menu or pizza and chips this is not going to meet your expectations.
On our arrival we were welcomed and offered a choice of room and also due to lunch having just finnished they asked if they could find us something to eat.
The family were welcoming and i never felt overlooked at meal times, the chief was always happy to give overview of the menu.
due to this being a small hotel their was always a sun bed avaliable and pleany of shelter if required, the grounds were lovely and the pool small but adequate.
We hired a car for the two weeks which was great and spent our two or three beech days about 5km down the road at a lovely beech with free sunbeds, parasols and wifi, this side of the island has shingle/ sand beeches so don't forget your sea shoes they cost about 6 euro's in the local shops.
If car hire is out of your budget the bus service is regular and actually an event not to be missed, sardines would be an appropriate description and actually enabled us chat to other holiday makers and make friends.
My best day is a hard choice between the water park and the 5 hour boat trip with barbaque lunch around the bays, we took this trip with "popeye" based in Falaraki harbour cost 20 euros each but well worth!
word of warning!!!!! When you visit lindos do not buy a drink from the bar at the TOP where if you went up by donkey you would get off, as me and my husban ordered 4 drinks (all soft) as were were soooo thirsty after doing the acropolis and it came to 17 euro's :(.
If you want basic and clean this is the hotel, if you want luxury, night life and kids clubs/activities look else where or be prepaired to go out and abut to find it.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 118 this is an upper level with a sea view

Having read so many differing reports on this hotel after I had already booked through teletext we were a little apprehensive about what to expect.
The food is typically greek with three or four hot options and always salad available including some greek vine leaves wrapped around rice etc. The food was good and fresh and served by Mike the chef who was happy to talk to the guests. We never felt that we were being watched going for the second and third plates of BBQ or pasta or breakfast.
Someone had mentioned that there were signs everywhere but I could only find one asking that food not be taken to the rooms. There were barely any signs at all which was nice coming from the UK where the Health and Safety brigade would have a field day in Greece.
The room was clean and we were prepared for the 5euro per night Air Conditioning fee and gladly paid it - although in the day time if we had the main door and the balcony door open the wind really did breeze through the room.
We walked down to the beach and along to Tholos itself (left at the bottom of the road from the hotel). There were a few bars, a couple of supermarkets selling cigs, alcohol, souvenirs etc. A couple of rental places for Cars and mopeds, quads and motorcycles are there too. The quadbikes seem to be in abundance on the Rhodesian roads.
I would highly recommend a day trip to Rhodes and the old town - the bus there passed the airport and we were surprised at how many sardines you can get in a bus lol.
If I were to travel to the same island twice then I would likely stay here again.
The only minor fault I could possibly mention is that the grandchildren of the owners were playing in the pool and splashing guests in the face and not moving from the steps for guests to exit the pool. A group of us guests spoke about this but after reading reviews we thought it maybe unwise to rock the boat after reading the reviews on here.

My friend and I stayed at the Georgia for a week in the middle of June and we had such a lovely holiday. We were both looking for a chilled out relaxing time and we got exactly what we wanted. We arrived at stupid o clock in the morning greeted by Loukas who showed us to our room and after we purchased the air conditioning we had a few hours sleep. I'd advise anyone to purchase the air con as its very hot even in the middle of the night, its 5euros a night and well worth it!
Food is lovely, you get a good selection of hot and cold dishes and Mike the chef is always on hand to tell you what the dishes are. All inclusive drinks are from 11am to 11pm and that includes wine, beer and soft drinks. Cocktails from 9pm - 11pm are two for 4euros and 4euros each any other time. They are well worth a try as are the very potent fishbowls!
The hotel and pool are very very clean, rooms were cleaned each day and we were left with fresh towels and bedding.
On a friday night there is a dancing man as entertainment. He might not be to everyones taste but we had a great night as everyone joined in with the dancing and some girls we met there even had some moves of their own!! If you are looking for a party night out Faliraki is only a 20 min taxi ride away plus there is a bar or two a short walk from the hotel. We didn't leave the hotel grounds as we didn't have much money plus we made our own entertainment. I'm lucky I went away with a friend I was happy to spend my time with!
Peter, his wife Georgia and their son Loukas are the family that own the hotel and they are all so lovely. If you treat them and their home with respect you will get it back (which I think some people on here writing bad reviews have forgot to remember!!)
We met some great people while we were there, you just chat to everyone as if you already know them.
The hotel is situated on top of a small hill which gives it fantastic views of the sea and even Turkey on a clear day. The sunset at night is stunning, there are pics on here for you to look at although the real thing is so much better. The grounds of the Georgia are beautiful, well kept, and tidy gardens.

All in all if you are looking for a relaxing chilled out holiday in a clean environment with friendly people I would reccommend The Georgia. I would go definitely go back.

Seen some mixed reviews maybe subject to personal preference, have travelled 60+ countries so stopped in a fair few hotels and will hopefully give a balanced view.
Owners are a lovely family, typically Greek got a warm welcome, we treated them with respect and they looked after us all holiday.
Location is up a hill with lovely views, 10 mins walk from the beach and the bars, restaurants & facilities of the village. Walk back is no problem unless you're old and infirm. A little aircraft noise but only an issue if you want absolute peace. The advantage is a 13 euro taxi from the airport no expensive transfer to book.
Food is typically Greek, it is a small hotel, perhaps some would feel it a limited choice but it was good quality, just don't expect fish and chips and a roast dinner.
Rooms are basic but clean and cleaned / towels changed regularly. It is 3* not a 5* penthouse, so if you want luxury pay for it. Bugs are around, it's in the Med the price of 35deg heat.
Drinks are all inc lite, means beer wine and softs from 11 until 11. Don't whinge about lack of branded spirits 24/7, you need to fork out more than £20 nite, that doesn't even cover a Travelodge saver room. All in all a great 5 day holiday, you get what you pay for, 5*'s for value.

Room Tip: Aircon is extra 5 euro per night. We did not need it in June July, but be aware if you suffer in the...
