Mary and Greg are wonderful people, but their daughter Saundra, on hoidayl herself, won us over with kindness, charm and hospitality. Supper location on Keel Beach, with back gate for evening walks on the beach. just magic FiDV

We stayed only one night at Stella Maris but it was the best night's sleep we had during our whole holiday. There is a lovely, easy-going feel to this charming B&B that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. And the breakfast is a real cut above the usual fare, with a wonderful view from the breakfast room out to the sea.

When our car broke down in the car park as we prepared to leave in the morning, everyone at Stella Maris could not have been more helpful and understanding. Huge thanks to Mary for giving us a lift to the mechanic once our car had been repaired. Irish hospitality at its best!

We stayed three nights at Stella Maris and we loved every minute. Our room on the ground floor was clean, spacious and bright with a wonderful view to the sea. The beach, the reataurants and the grocery store are within short walking distance. Mary and Greg are down-to-earth and were very helpful. In such a way that Greg prepared an extra breakfast for us early in the morning because we had to catch the 8.30-bus back to Westport (Bus stop is only some 200 metres away!). Thanks a lot for the wonderful days in your house!

We stayed 2 nights at Stella Maris, and would like to have stayed a lot longer. The views and weather were GREAT. Our hostess were very helpful and were always available when we needed them. The breakfast was very good with a good selection. My Wife thought the pancakes were some of the best she has had. They have plenty of parking, and it is only a few yards walk out to a very nice beach.

Room Tip: Room 6 has fantastic views and is very large.

We stayed at Stella Maris for a couple of days to escape from small children and city life and to complete the Achill Half Marathon. As regulars to Achill we never cease to be amazed by the beautiful beach and amazing views, framed to perfection from Greg and Mary's garden. Luckily the sun shone and we were able to sit in the sheltered garden one evening enjoying the views.
The rooms are spotlessly clean, bright and airy, with all comforts you would hope for from a top guesthouse. The breakfasts are wonderful with huge amounts to choose from and hot breakfasts cooked to order - the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were wonderful, as was the granola with berries.
Greg and Mary are very welcoming and incredibly helpful, even happy to let us eat breakfast early in readiness for the big run! Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing break!

i stayed at the Stella Maris two years ago with my two children during a wet and chilly summer. None of that mattered. We loved our accomodation-Greg and Gary provided a home from home-comfort, warmth, hospitality and a great breakfast!. i especially loved the location- so close to Keel beach with gorgeous views of the sea and Minaun cliffs.

Last week I invited a good friend and her two children to join us for five days. My friend is returning soon to her native Nepal and I wanted her to experience the wild and uncontaminated beauty of Achill.
Thankfully, the weather was brilliant and show-cased my favourite place in Ireland in all her abundant glory. Our stay at the fabulous Stella Maris served to assure a great holiday. Lovely rooms, an amazing relaxed atmosphere, wonderful hospitality and a delicious choice of beautifully cooked breakfasts.with lots of fresh fruits , cheeses, yogurts jams,- you name it, Mary provides it.
Mary and Greg also have a lovely garden fronting on to the beach and I have particularly fond memories of swinging gently on the carved garden seat in the warm late evening breeze with my children and gazing up at the mystical cloud formations draping over Slievemore.mountain.

My friend and her children were equally impressed with their experience and she intends to spread the word.Thank you Mary, Greg, Nicola and Helena for making my stay so enjoyable. See you next year if not before!!!

.. . . .

Room Tip: room 6 for a fab sea view
