“Pleasantly suprised”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We arrived in kavos 8th june after booking elli studios online the week before and if im honest wasn't expecting that much for the price paid but was very suprised.

We booked the maisonette room with roof terrace, was very clean and tidy after reading reviews of being dirty.

Very good atmosphere close to the strip for drinks and food but far enough away if you fancied a chilled night.

Breakfasts and bagettes really nice too!

Good nice clean pool.

Our only faults with elli studios would be :-

no fresh towels all week
bed sheets not changed all week.
Very hard matresses

Apart from that cant fault this place we went as a couple late 20's looking to chill out and have nice meals not to party.

End of the day you get what you pay for!

Great value for money.

Me and my girlfriend booked a last minute deal at Elli Studio's in August for 9 nights.
Once we arrived at night, we were shown to our room, then went and are straight away at the bar on site (open 24hrs). The food was nice and reasonably priced, especially the fry up for €2,90! (Def worth having).
Only problem is we began to gulp our food down because of the amount of wasp's around! I'd suggest you take a swat or leave a fizzy fanta drink out for them to go in the bottle!

Our room was basic and clean, did take a few days for it to be cleaned, and unfortuantley bedding wasn't changed at all. Downside is the shutters you cannot twist them open, so can be very dark! But you do have double glazing doors, but no curtains or drapes, so no privacy. Gina the dog is lovely, barks quite a bit during the night which was a shame because found it hard to sleep.

The pool isn't particualy large, but is adequate for a little swim/sleep on the float. Cleaned late every night, although I did think there was loads of chlorine put in, (did have soare eye's alot). Got a sun lounger everyday, and was nice that they play uk music around th pool all day.

The strip is a 10/15min walk away, Definatley worth going out for a few drink's! Such a good atmosphere, and absolutley no trouble! There is a fast food place there, where you get a meal and a drink for just €5, the owner's are very polite people and lovely burger! Karioke bar opposite, was a good laugh! Secret beach is a 40min walk, lovely beach! Alot better than the 5min beach from Elli S+A.

Would suggest if you book a trip to do it from the shop around the corner, as they sort out your travel to the destination, instead of paying extra for a taxi if you book on site with the rep. Blue Lagoon - nice chilled day out.

Overall we had a good holiday with highs of 36°, met some great people. Personally I think I would stay in a hotel if I was ever to go back, but for value for money, Elli is a good place to stay!

We stayed for two weeks end August. We arrived at 6 am and weren't due to check in til that afternoon but soks put us in a studio until our masonette was ready. We were made to feel welcome from the first moment we arrived.

Sunny, soks, Sophie, Alex and the staff were all great. The food was cheap and really nice at the elli studios as well. They did a couple of bbqs and you need a good appetite to finish it.

There is alot of sport available on three tv's, pool table, large garden and swimming pool

The overall atmosphere was very family friendly and relaxing. Even though you are close to kavos you are far enough from it as well. The secret beach is a must and only about 40mins walk. The other guests generally are quiet late at night.

In town the steakhouse, Tex mex and the pizza place next Door are worth a try.

Would come back again

Stayed here with my son from the 12th August for a week. Arrived early hrs of Saturday morning checked in very quickly. Showed to the room just basically dropped our cases in the room and went back to the bar. After a few cold beers and something to eat and chatting to some of the other guests we went back to the room. Rooms basic but adequate for a weeks stay so what about a little water on the floor it is a bathroom after all and is only wet after showering. Staff empty bins and brush and mop floors daily and make the beds. For how much it costs to eat out I didn't even bother cooking. Pool area was great and the food was of a good standard. Wasps all I can say is you get use to them after a few days. They love fanta orange. So I'd recommend not getting this to drink while eating because they won't leave you alone. I put a bottle under my sun lounger and it was full of wasps and hadn't even realised. We had a lovely time and met some really good friends. Recommend the Rose tavern just up the road for a change. And the strip is literally only 10 mins away where you can get a good meal and some really nice bars if your not into the party all night raves. We went on the blue lagoon cruise booked through the rep. The shop do the same one and you actually get a lift there, we had to take a taxi costing 8 euros. Atmosphere really good. We went to a karaoke bar and had a really good night. Plus went to a few places to eat on the strip. All in all had a brilliant holiday. Big thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Nicky & Jake x

We stayed in Elli studios for the last week of August and felt welcome when we arrived, checking in was fairly straight forward Sofia then showed us to our room making us feel welcome, we loved that it was a 15 minute walk from the strip so we stil had peace and quiet that we was looking for until for got moved to the studios right near the bar. We found the masionette clean and we had all the basic's for a ideal self catering hotel but after 3days into our holiday we were told by one of the hotel staff called Sunny "you have one hour to move rooms" because they placed us in the wrong room we had no problem with moving rooms what so ever but sunny one of the hotel staff was so rude about it and that's when we felt like we wasn't welcome here anymore.

When we moved into one of the studios we was very disappointed not because of the space but because even though it was brilliant that the bar was open 24 hours that meant noise which was the last thing we opted for! The pillows were dirty and had make up all over it and that meant we had no pillows, the bed was rock hard which meant back pains, the cutlery was filthy, the toilet seat was yellow and black in the inside, and when you had a shower the water went all over the floor and we had to result to putting towels on the floor because the cleaner refused to come and clean our room after asking the staff.

We then got shouted at by one of the hotel staff Sunny for putting the towels on the floor which made us feel like we jus wanted to go home, our room only got cleaned twice whilst we was there an that was jus changing the bins an moping the floor that was not changing our sheets or anything else. We had a lovely patio area which had a view of the field area at the back of our studio until we noticed the hives nest and the RATS running past our patio door at night time which was brought to our attention by the guests that was staying next door. May I add that the wasps and Mosquitos was in the light bulb and that made you getting bite or stung countless
times every night during our stay, I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND staying in the studios due to the noise most of all and the poor state of rooms, but the masionette's was basic but very clean and it's best to not ask the staff for anything if you do not want to get shouted at.

The guests were very friendly and we wasnt short of mutrual things to complain about but the hotel staff (mainly the men) were just as bad as the WASPS that we couldn't get away from!!!!

Stayed here 19th August 2013 for one week.

I booked to go to Kavos with my teenage daughter as a last minute deal and was worried that this accommodation would be either too close to the "strip" and therefore very noisy, or just full of partying twenty-something year olds that never slept ... Don't mind people enjoying their holiday, just like a peaceful sleep more :-)

We arrived late on at Corfu airport and by the time we hit Kavos centre, it was about 2am local time. At this point, I was awoken from my snooze by the sound of the coach windows rattling ... this wasn't a mechanical fault of the comfortable, air conditioned coach we were being transferred in, this was from the boom, boom, boom of loud dance music bouncing out of every bar on the strip!! I began to worry!!!

Five minutes later, we were getting off the coach at Elli Studios and, unbelievably, the only sounds to be heard, were those of gentle music coming from the bar at Elli and the crickets in the surrounding fields ... it was a joy to behold :-)

We were greeted at Elli by Socrates (the general manager, I believe) who showed us to our room, explained all we needed to know about it and left, leaving us with the impression that, to him, nothing would be a problem. In fact, from my experience at Elli, I can safely say this about all the staff I spoke to ... helpful, friendly and very accommodating people.

The room itself was a 2 story maisonette and was more than ideal for our needs. The basics are their for self catering purposes and the room itself was nice and clean. Air con is available for 5 euros a night (which was a godsend in my eyes!) and the facility of a safe is available if required.

Elli has a bar/cafe combination with a fairly decent menu and a good selection of drinks. It is also open 24hrs of the day, 7 days a week and though the staff enjoy people having fun, they also know that other guests (especially families with young children) need some quiet time late at night. Hence the noise level from the bar area late on, is monitored and controlled well.
Both the drinks and the food are reasonably priced at Elli, (which makes a nice change from some of the places I have stayed that seem to rip you off with food prices) making it an ideal place to grab a snack when you are round the pool, have a late lunch or an early morning breakfast ... which incidentally, are fantastic!!
There are also a good selection of soft drinks and ice creams.

Sky sports channels are also available in the bar (for those who are interested) together with a pool table.

The pool, although not olympic size, is clean and ideal for the purpose of having a cooling swim or floating lazily around on some kind of inflatable. There is also a little paddling type pool attached for the non-swimming children. Sun loungers are free and (whilst we were there) enough to go round so there is no need to get up at 5am just to go and put your towel down on one of them!

For those going self catering, this accommodation is literally 2 minutes away from a fairly well stocked supermarket so getting those essentials isn't such a pain in the backside.
Elli is also only a 15 min walk from Kavos making the town accessible enough to go and enjoy a variety of gift shops, restaurants and bars etc and (if needed) visit an ATM.

Whilst our stay at Elli Studios was really enjoyable, I can only give it a four star rating ... though I have to point out that this is just my opinion based on our stay there!

The reason for the four stars is simple ... the bloody wasps!!!

There is obviously a nest or two in or around the bar area and these need to be found and dealt with as soon as possible ... not just because it is annoying whilst you are trying to eat but it can be a hazard for guests (and children in particular) especially when they get stung. I was stung and so were 2 other people that I spoke to so it is a problem that shouldn't be ignored really.

Apart from that, the accommodation, the staff, the location and the general overall feel of the place is fantastic and I would highly recommend Elli Studios to anybody.

It's such a shame about the wasp problem as this review (based on my stay) would definitely get a five star rating :-)

We stayed for 2 weeks in August - initally worried about the location arriving in the early hours of the morning through dancing teenagers who hung off the coach and banged on the bus making it almost impossible for the coach to get through! the coach then went around a corner and up a small hill to our stop, on arrival i was relieved to find our small and friendly accommodation.
We were greated by two young boys (one being Alex) who took our cases for us and welcomed us. Soc then welcomed us (one of the brothers that ran the studios) he was really welcoming and chatted to us over a drink before showing us to our studio. The studio as i imagined was very basic but very clean with a lovely balcony at the back and patio area at the front by the pool on the ground floor (Number 1). As it was for self catering there was a few bit of things missing from the studio eg. no pans, plates, glasses etc but when i spoke to Soc he provided everything we needed and said to let him know if we needed anything else. The pool area was lovely and clean with plenty of sun beds around the pool. I enjoy a morning swim each day and was the only person by the pool until around 1030am which was lovely. The pool had UK radio playing all day that was really nice and Soc cleaned the pool every night.
The small complex has a lovely snack bar in which $6 was the most expensive meal, full english breaky was 2.90 Euros and really good - Sophia (Soc's wife) did the majority of the cooking and the food was lovely - everything we had or saw other people eat was really good value for money, some of the salad was picked fresh from the garden! Ice cold pint of beer in iced glass was 2 euros a pint and lovely in the afternoon. A small childrens swing area was enjoyed by younger children. The family who ran the studios were really helpful, friendly and went out of their way to ensure everyone was happy, including arranging a BBQ for us all one night which was really enjoyable.
The only downside of the stay was the representative Jason who would sell his own grandmother if he could was the opinion i got from him, happy to take your money but offered no customer service at all, especially as a few of us complained about a trip to Paxos he misold us and his answer was 250 people were on the trip and nobody else had complained so nothing he can do!! not really helpful at all! My daughter asked him the day before we were due to go home what time the transfer was he said you will have to ring up and walked away after telling us on day one he would let us know! other people werre asking and being told so i approached him and eventually he made the phone call to find out for us. He also bosted that he was the cheapest for the trips in which he wasn't lots of people during our stay booked elsewhere as much better value, it is a shame that a bad holiday rep let this holiday down slightly for us.
Also i would advise taking a wasp swatter with you as lots of wasps in August which the family did everything they could to steer them away, due to the vinyards at the back of the studios and fruit trees - which were very pretty. You do get used to them but they are huge!!
All in all this was a great value holiday with a fantastic family and their children running the place amazingly - basic but charming in its own way.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room and got room 1 which is the furthest studio away from the bar area and was...
