If you are holidaying in Kavos, stay at Morfeas!

Not only is this hotel the perfect distance from the strip, its affordable, comfortable and has the best atmosphere of any hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff are all fab and really friendly, especially Mickey who takes the time and effort to learn every guest name and make you feel really at home. The rooms are basic, but since this is all you need from a party hotel it really wasn't a problem and we had a great balcony area of a decent size. Rooms were generally well maintained (cleaned 6 days a week) and whilst we had an initial problem with a broken fridge, the hotel staff were extremely apologetic and sent in a handy man as soon as they could. The pool area was great, nice a lively but we never failed to get a sunbed. You can't eat you're own food and drink in the pool area (although as far as I am aware this is standard practice in greece, or at least corfu for tax reasons) and whilst the drinks were quite expensive (a euro for water) the food at the pool bar was generally really good especially the toasties and baguettes.

Thomas Cook were a great travel company and our rep, Sean, was really involved in the holiday and hotel activities and exceptionally friendly. If you are looking at signing up for events I would recommend the Thomas Cook Bar Crawl, Paint Party and Morfeas Pool Party, all of which we attended.

Fantastic holiday. Big thanks to all the staff who made our holiday a great week to remember.

Despite what the reviews below say it is complete and utter nonsense. This hotel had some of the best steaks i had ever tasted before and all for 15 euros including a pint! The rooms were fine no problems at all, its quite simple if you want the maids in you have to be up but if not they do still leave towels. Location wise it is simply fantastic a 5 minute walk from the strip but still not right on it. A safe for 10 euros also was reasonably priced id say, never had any problems at all with it. Finally the best to last the STAFF!!! Never met better people in my life in hotels. Mickey in particular was a great guy, always made sure everything was fine and any requests etc was never too much trouble, akas, costa and millie too were also good people. Always made an effort to come and talk and it was never too much effort for them. Overall the hotel made my holiday, i think had i not been in the morfeas i would not have enjoyed kavos as much but the hotel really made it amazing.

I think the staff were really friendly, funny and helpful, and always made effort to talk to us, we were given a free shot on arrival, always welcome (y). We ate in the restaurant quite a few nights and the food was great, especially the steak we had on our last night. We went to the pool party on the thursday night which was really funny and definitely worth going to, generally had a really great time :)

I went on holiday with possibly the biggest booking of the summer and the hotel was average at best to start with.

Rooms: very basic, a bathroom that flooded and made the floor of the whole room disgusting and we had no option but to wear trainers which dirtied the floor further. The beds were solid with springs digging into you and the pillow was even harder. The towels were however decent. The balcony locked itself when closed and if the key was in the room then there was no other way into the room........ until we ripped the door open which was so easy a child could do it. So not great security to be fair.

Security: if you wanted a safe you had to pay for it rather than just a deposited which was ridiculous. As previously stated the balcony door could be opened with a slight pull. The security guard was however the most enjoyable member of staff to to be around and his response to the security lights going of was promising.

Hygiene: one of the most disappointing aspects of the morfeas. The maids
entered the room when we were sleeping and the most they did was give us more toilet role. We had to get the maid to swap the towels ourselves and the bed sheets weren't change for the whole time we were there. Besides the previously stated flooded and filthy floor wasn't cleaned for the duration of our stay. At the end of the stay some of us were charged for the state of our beds although one of my friends slept in a coat of his own sweat and another was going to be charged for a stain that was already present of his bed sheet on arrival. So charge us 40 euros for air con and if
we sweat to much charge us for it, just evident money grabbing. Finally the most disgusting part of the stay was the constant smell of faeces. One of my friends had a room right beside one of the sewage pumps and his room was unbearable to stand in.

Staff: the manager was a brilliant guy that appeared to do his best to help everyone without over doing it as well. Our rep Shaun was also a great guy
that offered us activities but wasn't to pushy. One of the hotel workers done her best at making us pay for all the activities but as soon as we didn't bow down to her she stopped speaking to us. We witnessed one of the workers also grinding on younger girls numerous times which was a bit creepy to say the least. The entertainer Mickey was a fairly decent guy but had his strange moments. By far the best members of staff were the George's that worked at night.

In the end i wouldn't go again although the food was nice. The fines that we had to pay were ridiculous and the hotel wasn't clean. The staff done their best to make us spend our money at the hotel but it was far to obvious.

This hotel might seem like a good deal but it's a complete cash grabbing scam, the price of the rooms is cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. The rooms weren't clean, the beds are hard and uncomfortable, the pillows are even worse, the entire hotel absolutely stinks of faeces and you have to pay 40€ for air-con, which is appropriate as it is a con to be charged that much. The sheets were never changed even though I was out of my room in time for the maid to do it on the right day, but instead of changing them all she did was flip it round, I know because I left a small bloodstain on one side and when I got back it was still there just on the other side. Also, the towels are only changed once a week so they end up damp and smelly soon. The shower floods the entire bathroom and never stays at the right temperature, only going from hot to cold, and the toilet barely flushes, one of my friends had to use the shower to flush it out properly. The food is alright but hardly anything special, just cheap. The drinks are all overpriced and watered down, the 'Morfeas Mule' being worst at all, it just tastes like green water and is 5€ per cup. Most of the staff are alright, but some are just creepy, the bartender Costas being the worst. The pool is alright, but you aren't allowed to bring any drinks in, not even water, and the bar there is overpriced too. And don't bother going to the pool party, it's basically 20€ for a rubbish BBQ and a couple of games, there isn't a free bar and I can imagine the only way to enjoy it is drunk so be prepared to shell out another 30€ on watered down drinks at the bar. The hotel only want to keep you happy when you're spending money there and will squeeze every last penny they can before you go, on our last we were fined 260€ for stains on two mattresses and sheets. One of the beds was fair enough because my friend did stain it pretty bad, but the other was just water or sweat due to the overpriced air con, plus they tried to charge another of my friends for one of their beds and when they went to check the stain they were being fined for it was far older than the week we stayed there, so it wouldn't surprise me if the never even replaced the mattresses we were fined for, not that they could have cost 120€ for that quality, 12€ more like. And they only told us about the fines 5 minutes before we were supposed to leave, it's lucky we had enough between us to pay because I can imagine them not letting us go without making back all the "free" drinks they gave us when we ate there as we were such a large group. The security there is laughable, when you get there they keep all the passports behind the reception in one large bundle which anyone can see and get to if they wait for one of the staff to go get a drink at the bar, then when you leave the hotel your keys are kept in the same shelves and again anyone could just lean over and take to break into your room, not that they would need to because a child could open the balcony doors after they'd supposedly been locked and it wouldn't even damage the door so it wouldn't look like they had broken in at all. They do offer a small safe in your room but you have to buy that as well and they don't let you leave them the keys with them so you have to hide them somewhere in your room anyway which is pretty pointless. We only went here for somewhere to sleep and shower and even then we were disappointed, as soon as we were about to leave they thanked us by trying to fine us 400€ after spending the week pretending to be our friends to get more money off our group. Don't listen to the good reviews because clearly they just fell for the "family" charade and never realised all the hotel cares about is your money and how to get more of it, you'd think with a group of 15 they would have got enough.
