Friends Cafe is a small cafeteria style cafe within a commercial building which is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9am through 2pm. Evidently serving mainly the building occupants themselves, it is also open to the general public as advertised by an inviting billboard on the street outside. My wife and I found inside is a well stocked counter behind which two ladies take and fill orders. While the food is being prepared there are comfortable leather chairs at a windows available to sit in, or you can sit at one of the tables. After paying at the time of order at the counter, you would normally collect the food yourself at the counter when it is ready. As we ate well before noon and there were very few guests, our meal was brought to our table. We both had the "Cashew chicken served with steamed Thai Jasmine Rice and spring roll" at $11.00 each. It was nicely presented in the style of fine dining, hot and wonderfully flavourful. If the rest of the food served here is as good, and it looks to be, we highly recommend Friends Cafe. They would have earned a full five star rating but I had to deduct one star for serving great hot food on a thick, cold plate; not a good idea.
