We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected in dreadfully wet weather at which point we decided to have lunch in the conservatory whilst waiting for our room. Lunch was prompt, good value and soon polished off by two hungry cyclists. When advised our room was ready we were able to store our bikes in a large shed (equipped with cycle racks) at the rear of the hotel to keep them dry. We had a large rear facing room, comfortable and well equipped. We chose to eat our evening meal in the dining room which was fully booked although the two staff were very efficient and seemed to cope very well keeping all diners happy. A varied menu is offered and the meals we had were extremely tasty. Thank you.

Stayed in room 7 in May. Very comfortable - bathroom could have been a little larger but adequate. Clean & fresh room. Very helpful & friendly staff. Excellent food & choice of drinks at little bar. Can eat in restaurant, bar or conservatory. We ate first night in conservatory on a warm & sunny evening. Fish pie for two - langoustine & crab claws on top & the fish inside to die for.

A really nice three night break whilst exploring the Western Isles. Thank you to all the team.

Room Tip: Can only speak of room 7 but others looked nice & other guests seemed very happy from comments o...

We arrived at the hotel without a reservation, and were pleased to get a room as accommodation is hard to find if you are not booked ahead. Lovely room, nice and cosy on a cold day. Evening meal was very enjoyable, and the residents' lounge is very relaxing, with free chocolates! The only disappointment was the owners' attitude, as she was quite hostile. Apart from that we had a lovely stay and would recommend. The 2 girls serving were really pleasant and very efficient.

We enjoyed our stay at this small hotel overlooking the temple ruins. The hotel has a good selection of bottled Scottish ales and the chef cooks a tasty dinner with a good choice on the menus plus daily specials.

We spent two nights here and found it ideal for travelling around North Uist. The hotel is comfortable and staff are friendly. I appreciated some of the small touches - fruit available in lounges and chocolates too! We booked at short notice and stayed in a room especially adapted for disabled people - it's good to see this in place. Residents can eat bar meals in the restaurant - they are very good value.

My wife and I visited this small hotel for dinner one evening recently and really enjoyed a great dinner! I had telephoned to make reservations several days before and the owners said that they were completely full, but as there were only two of us, they would try and 'squeeze us in'!
When we arrived, we were placed at one of a few tables in a small conservatory, overlooking the road to the moor to the west of the hotel, with a great view of the ruins of the Trinity Temple - a great seat in fact, in easy chairs and feeling rather special!
The two waitresses made the evening even more special, as they were extremely helpful in choosing our dinner and as a result, we opted for one of the specials - halibut, cooked in lemon butter sauce!
This came with a generous selection of potatoes and vegetables, all of which were delicious! Prior to this, we had enjoyed a very nice starter and then finished our meal with coffee!
Throughout the evening, the staff were attentive without being intrusive and very friendly, chatting about various things in the area. It was a very nice evening and we thoroughly enjoyed it all!The meal was of a high quality, generous portions and a reasonable price. Without doubt, we would certainly revisit this restaurant on our next visit to the region.

Room Tip: Only ate in the hotel, did not stay, so cannot comment on the rooms.

We ordered the haddock and chips and the poached salmon with potatoes and veg. Huge portion of salmon was only just warm enough, cooked fine but not hot when it reached the table. Haddock was borderline too. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
