Travelled to Uist on the day Scotland was being battered by the tail end of hurricane Bertha. Ferry late and arrived to a lovely welcome and room that was sanctuary. Very tidy and spotless room which was perfect after the day's travel. Breakfast was all freshly prepared the next morning. Great host, lovely room and great food.

We stayed for two nights. Rooms are fresh and clean. Hosts are perfect, welcoming and warm and not intrusive.

Breakfast is cooked to the order you make the night before. The chickens in the garden provide the eggs and they also provide some entertainment

We stayed here for one night in June 2014 and wished it could have been for longer! However it is not surprising that The Rowan Tree was already fully booked for the following nights because this is B and B at its very best. The bedroom was large and very well presented, with a wonderful picture window and comfortable chairs, as well as a huge, extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was bigger and more luxurious than in many much more expensive hotels, with a wonderfully powerful shower. We had a delicious evening meal and enjoyed the fact that we could bring our own wine to the table. The full Scottish breakfast was exactly that..marvellous value and vert high quality food. Overall, a superb base for any visit to North Uist - and there is plenty to see. Congratulations to the Hoppers on running such a great B and B.

I stayed one night only, but the room on the road side on the ground floor was exactly what I needed! Spacious with en suite, made a great stay. Very friendly hosts and great breakfast. Definitely one to recommend for anyone.

This was a perfect stopover.the accommodation is clean, we'll appointed and welcoming. Linda and Alistair are great hosts. The breakfasts are just right to start the day and Alistair cooks a mean evening meal.

Stayed overnight had 2 rooms took my mum with us . We were made to feel very welcome the hostis lovely.we had been driving all day and when we asked where the nearest restaurant was which was half an hours drive away. The host linda sensing we didnt want to go any futher offered to cook for us which we happily excepted. She then did no more then went to the shops and cooked us a lovely spag bowl followed by a chocolate pudding . We couldnt have asked for better service in a 4 star restaurant, nothing was two much trouble .the rooms were spotless and very comfortable with lovely views. Had a lovely stay here thanks to linda. Would recommend this place to anyone. Will certainly go back. A little bit of heaven thanks

We arrived at the Rowan Tree at 8.30pm after a long day's cycling from Portree in Skye, via the hills of Harris, to find a warm welcome from Linda. She showed us to a very comfortable room with a large double bed and a good bathroom. Despite our late arrival we had a delicious meal of hearty home-cooking - perfect. After a great night's sleep we had an excellent breakfast, watching the chickens who had provided our eggs, before setting off on the next leg of our cycle ride.
