I've written a fuller review for Langass Lodge incorporating the restaurant in the hotel section - where we felt the room was a let down ............. but not the food. However, the food was so good I felt I had to add a further brief review here on its own covering the restaurant.
We ate here on each of the 3 nights of our stay and the food was 1st class on each occasion. Highlights included the starter dish of scallops with black pudding; lobster, turbot and sea bass for mains; finally the puddings were also excellent and provided a great finish to the meal.
Staff were informal and friendly and added to the relaxed atmosphere.
Meals can be taken in the bar area or restaurant - the menu is the same for both. The view from the windows is beautiful.
There is a good wine list and reasonably priced.
Finally, although there is no dress code, most tend to make a little effort to tidy up for dinner. The reason I mention this is that you may see a man walking about in scruffy trousers and holes in his jumper - don't worry as I believe he is the owner! Hmm. It did seem a bit strange.
