We stayed here in September. The site is down a lane just off the main road about a 3 to 4 minute drive. The site is set on an RSPB reserve and is literally across the road from a fantastic pure white sand bay. There is a great walk around the head land within the RSPB reserve. The site has hard standing and grass pitches. The hard standing pitches are a little small when we parked the van on the hard standing zone you tend to then have to step out into grass, another half a metre of hard standing in width would have been very useful. The site has fantastic facilities, two heated wc/ shower blocks one at each end of the site, the showers are £1 for 7 mins which is a long time after you have wild camped. There is also a laundry and drying room. The location is great for exploring the island; although the distances are not great - driving is slow due to the narrow roads and need to stop in the passing places but the driving experience and fab scenery are half the fun
There is also a food van onsite which serves lovely food we had prawn rolls and cake one day which were excellent. The owners are always around and very helpful.
It’s a great site, good location and facilities but in an absolutely fab location

Excellent campsite. Spotlessly clean at all times. I’ve camped for more than 50 years and this really was the cleanest! Helpful staff and next to an amazing beach. Can’t recommend highly enough. Easy to find from the ferry too.

Brilliant location near the most beautiful beaches. Great for birding. Handy little food truck on site 11 am -
pm. Facilities are immaculately clean. Plenty of hot water. Sites are well spaced. Is it just me that thinks £1 for the shower is an unnecessary charge?

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay with us. We welcome your feedback. We charge for showers as we are located beside a popular beach and non-residents use the facilities. Its the only way we can manage this situation. We do hope you will visit us again in the future.

Having visited several years ago, on our recent visit we tried to book a pitch here, without success; however, we had asked to be advised if space became available and were fortunate enough to secure a cancellation. Since our previous visit, the owners have invested significantly in the site, with an increased number of pitches offering hardstanding and an additional facilities block: laundry facilities, drying room, showers – all maintained very well. The welcome was warm, all necessary information was provided and we settled down to enjoy our brief stay.

The campsite is adjacent to a stunning stretch of coast – some rocky, some beautiful beaches – and there is a marked walk from the site that is straightforward to follow and offers stunning views of this unspoiled coast. We considered ourselves lucky to have had the chance to visit again: Anne (the owner) is to be congratulated on delivering this lovely opportunity to share her island home.

We look forward to returning – but will book further ahead!
