“Absolute peace and quiet”
Reviewed 21 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

A beautifully renovated 'black house' (now painted white) with everything a couple might need from walk in power shower to superbly fitted kitchen and lovely garden. We would have liked instructions on how to get down to the nearby loch as we were not able to access the sands until the last day of our holiday, and info on the wifi passcode (we found it eventually!). We did visit the church of St Mary's on Benbecula for Sunday Mass; we took a boat trip on the Lady Anne and saw seals and golden eagles; and I had a beach ride at the riding school on Benbecula. We also found a wonderful seafood/shellfish shop where we purchased fresh crab sandwiches, a lobster (which became a lobster salad lunc), smoked muscles, scallops and smoked salmon, all wonderfully frsh and delicious. This is an ideal holiday for an escape from the cares of daily living if you enjoy total peace and quiet and some degree of isolation. We slept well!

“Lovely well appointed cottage”
Reviewed 20 November 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Lovely welcoming little cottage with some nice touches. Great wilderness location and very amotspheric to stay in an old crofters cottage which has been sensitively modernised.

An excellent conversion of a black house. Well laid out and equipped with all essentials required. Would recommend to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate in returning.

“Lovely cottage for two”

Nicely refurbished and well thought out conversion of a traditional crofter's cottage. There are some lovely individual touches and was very clean and tidy on arrival.

A beautifully appointed little black house. It was very cosy and quite and it was a brilliant place to watch wild life, especially birds of prey.. the cottage had one bed room which was beautiful clean ,with nice bed linen. The bathroom was small but it had a good shower, The kitchen had all that you needed to be comfortable a dishwasher ....the sitting room was comfortable.. all the furniture fitted the cottage well... it was all just perfect.. it had WiFi no phone but who needs one on holiday anyway would have no problem recommending this to anyone...
