“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2012

We stayed for 4 nights at Casa Palmira and it was wonderful - clean, delicious breakfast, use of a fully equipt kitchen (which was a real help with our daughter who due to a food intolerance can't eat either pizza or pasta!), complementary beer and wine in the fridge and a big breakfast/sitting room with comfy sofas for lounging on.

Room Tip: Room Snail was the one for us!

Perfect indeed. This address is what B&B is all about.
Friendly hosts, clean and cosy rooms and a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was european style with bread, pistollets and eggs and coffee and fruit.

After having just arrived we got a glass of wine offered to climatize a bit from our trip we had undertaken. Now that's what I call hospitality!
During our stay we could ask away and got tips and info on the region and it's interesting places, These kind ppl even made the effort to make a reservation for us to guarantee the best places in a restaurant ("L'Incontro" in Florence > another golden tip!).

These kind of B&B should be the standard and not the exception. Unfortunatly we live in a world where lots of ppl are a bit lost. But always nice to know there exists some havens to resort to ;-)

Casa Palmira was our home away from home when my husband and I traveled to Tuscany on a culinary tour last year. As mentioned in earlier posts, the hospitality definitely deserves high marks. What was not mentioned is the delicious eggs Assunta made for us in the morning, along with other breakfast fare and the local oil and wine that was served that Stefano shared with us when we decided to "eat in" on an occassion or two.
We were there during an early cold spell, so weren't able to take advantage of the outdoor swimming pool, but it sure looked enticing!

Room Tip: We were on the top floor with most of the others in our party. It was cozier and quieter that way, b...

We 100% felt at home here. Assunta and Stefano were great hosts. They have made an old barn into an amazing guest house.

The rooms were large with bathrooms and warm heaters. The lounge is very welcoming and a lovely place just to soak up the tuscan way of life.

Our Family ( my hubby and my mum and dad) were invited to a family dinner. This was so lovely and they made us feel part of the family.... very blessed. The food and wine was amazing.

one word of advice.... watch out for the crazy drivers and small roads... :0)

Tuscany is a lovely country side that promises great wine, excellent extra version olive oil, unforgettable scenery and sightseeing, and an abundance of historical places. It only adds up to the marvel of the place to stay at a B&B such as Casa Palmira. My wife and I were there last September (2011) and we enjoyed every aspect of the place. The owners, Stephano and Assunta were great hosts who made our stay very much welcomed with their Italian style hospitality. The B&B is 15 minutes away from Florence and is accessible to a variety of Italian restaurants in the area. It is not just a place to crash in for the night. It is a place where you can relax and enjoy the fine taste of the place.
The rooms have a nostalgic and old style/design since the place used to be a farmhouse. Nevertheless you would not feel alienated with the present day necessities like Internet, or telephone and the place is always kept clean. You will also enjoy sitting outside while resting or relaxing before moving out on your next trip in the area. There is a medium sized pool located at the side of the estate, and a relaxing hammock overlooking the house and the lawn.
The place is also at a short distance from the road, making it convenient but not annoying even if you stay outside.
Stephano and Assunta are sincerely helpful and always make sure that their guests are comfortable and happy. It is always nice to dine out at the local restaurants in the area but you have to at least dine once with the owners who throw a rich table from the Italian cuisine that not only satisfies the appetite but also a delight to the eye.
I highly recommend this place if you plan to visit Tuscany and I am sure you will be met with the same special treatment as we did.

Room Tip: The room we took on the top floor towards the front yard is quiet and sunny. It is good for a couple...

Hubby-pie and I stayed during the MotoGP weekend July 2011. Fabulous breakfasts with a great variety on offer including Assunta's lovely scrambled eggs. Teas, coffee and water available throughout the day in the beautifully cool and inviting living/dining room.

Stefano and Assunta are marvellous hosts - very helpful and caring. Assunta was up at 7am (breakfast normally 8am - 10am) on the Sunday of the race so we could have her scrambled eggs before setting off - we didn't ask - she offered! Stefano reccommended some great restaurants including Il Feriolo - at the top of the hill from Casa Palmira. It does get dark walking back, but that's being in the country. We took a small torch with us and were amazed to see the fireflies that also lit our way back to Casa Palmira.

The rooms are lovely too - comfy beds and interesting decor and fluffy towels changed whenever you want.

I would recommend Casa Palmira wholeheartedly and I am looking forward to returning soon - especially now they are building a swimming pool in the garden!

We spent 7 beatiful days there. Assunta and Stephano are very nice and helpful people. They help you with everything. They are full of good ideas what to do and where to go. Their house and the garden are beatiful and you can really enjoy the tranquility of the Tuscan country side . We were very happy and satisfied there. we would recommend this nice bed and breakfast for everybody.
