Arrived at 1pm and of course we were told that we could have our rooms at 2pm so luckily we didn't mind because we planned to have lunch first. Will be writing a separate review of their restaurant later. Now about the hotel, for the price we paid, I don't think the hotel was up to par with the rates they charged. The rooms were beautifully designed in the inside maybe because we booked the most expensive rooms they had, the ones with terraces, but we were appalled by the lack of little things they should have prepared in the rooms.
First they made us sign a paper confirming receipt of remote control, towels and sheets?! Don't know what that was for maybe they feared people would still them!! My gosh our towels were much better than theirs, their towels were thin and small more of shawls actually...and their sheets..who would steal sheets?? Anyway we inspected the rooms and found that there were no towels provided in the other room, insufficient blankets for both rooms, pillows not covered with a pillow case in one room so imagine seeing the pillows with marks of dried yellowish and brownish saliva from previous guests, as a hotel they should make sure that the rooms including everything inside were ready for the next occupying guests. To add to that,the light bulb in the toilet was broken, there was leaking in the other room's toilet..but was later told that it was just water..no leaking..so why didn't they even mop it before giving us the rooms right? After listing everything missing and needed for the rooms (yes I listed everything on a piece of paper so they wouldn't forget),we had to wait for several hours to get it all delivered to our rooms so we were stuck in the rooms and were not able to even go out, I had to personally follow up with them at the reception area 3 floors down, the hotel didn't even have a manager present. We didn't want to leave our belongings just like that especially after seeing the faces of the staff after telling them all our complaints so we waited for everything to get delivered. I really told them off, sorry to say that I have had better rooms and services from other hotels and resorts that are much cheaper than theirs and actually the room rates didn't matter if the service and rooms provided were really worth the price.
Did I mention the hotel staff was really slow...and there was a lack of staff as well. We even joked and said that we could apply for a job since it seemed they were really short handed. We only saw about 3-4 people and they were the same people working for the restaurant and rooms, I mean they should have certain people working separately for both not the same people,so in case the staff was needed for the rooms, they weren't immediately available because they were all busy waiting tables at the restaurant. The hotel is not managed well, disappointingly we did not thoroughly enjoy our stay at their hotel after all the fiasco of the rooms and awful customer service.
To top that they had this small pool, which we didn't mind but shockingly it was too dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks! A friend took the risk of swimming for just 15 minutes and came out of the water with red spots all over him, after rinsing in clean water the spots went away, so imagine the bacteria and dirt in the pool water.
What a waste this hotel is, it's on a good spot on the beach, with nice interiors and colors actually but the customer service and the cleanliness of the pool is downright terrible!
