We recently (June 2014) stayed for 2 nights in the Suffolk shepherds hut and it was just lovely, pretty much everything you could need for a short stay, a few days more would have been a pleasure.
The setting was lovely and peaceful, it was an excellent location for getting around to some beautiful places.
The owners who were there if you need them but didn't 'bother' us were very friendly and helpful, homemade cake waiting for us, as well as eggs and a pint of milk in the fridge, the shepherds huts and tents are all spaced a good distance apart so you don't feel like you're spending the weekend with strangers, farm shop next door, there's wood available on site, it was dog friendly, the fire pit/bbqs were excellent too.
My only two comments for slight improvements would be a few more shelves/hooks in the shepherds hut would make things a little easier as the worktops do get full quite quickly and ours was the hut where the table converts into the bed so we ended up moving things around a lot.
Also, maybe a sign on the gate advising you to knock at the house, we weren't quite sure where to go when we first arrived.
I have to add that these are two very minor comments as the weekend, site and people were all wonderful.
Thanks for a lovely anniversary weekend :)More
