Tracie and I have had a Valentines meal here about two years ago and even though the meal was great and perfect service after not visiting for a couple of years popped in for a drink and lite bite to eat. We will always have a light option as if an establishment makes a pigs ear of something simple then you can be sure the main meals will not be up to scratch for sure. Tracie had a cheese sandwich and I had the Ham and mustard baguette, A glass of Pinot for her who must be obeyed and me a pint of larger and lime. When the food came there was a nice mixed salad garish and dressing and I who am not a great fan of the green stuff ate it all to the amazement of the Boss :-) . Tracies cheese sandwich was perfect fresh wholemeal bread as there was a choice and my Baguette was warm with a nice crisp to the crust. As cheese is one of my wife's favourite things she loves to eat commented what a lovely tasting cheese was used and my ham was spot on and not your plastic reformed you often get plus to top it the mustard used was colemans which has a distinctive taste . This swayed us to book a table for four on our way out to clebrate Tracies Dads birthday.
Was a perfect choice dad had the steak ( medium rare ) Tracie and her Mum Hunters Chicken and I had gammon , All the plates were cleared and Dad remarked it was the best steak he has ever had in a pub. Even Tracies Mum raved about her meal and she is often critical when dining out. Our meals were also GREAT and would visit again next in the town. Put aside the Pubby look as that is what it is however they have got a side room which they can open if busy or larger groups. Full marks to the Chef who it was clear like to put out a good if not perfect plate of food. Even though there was one member of staff running the bar and serving food as I am sure they did not think they would get busy on a Thursday Lunchtime but they did. Full marks as no one was left waiting and all had a customary is everything ok visit ... 10/10 Bear & Bells and wont leave it so long before our next visit.

Went in quite early and were served quickly. The restaurant was closed for a private function so we ate in the quite noisy bar area. The lasagne and chips we ordered were absolutely delicious - hot, flavoursome and freshly cooked. Sadly we didn't have space for dessert, sadly.

Our welcome was friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable meal out.

After mucking about on the Norfolk Broads, 15 of us and 2 dogs decided to go to a well known franchise for lunch in Beccles. They had a large garden but the sign said "no dogs". A quick visit to trip advisor recommended The Bear and Bells. We arrived unannounced on a busy Sunday at lunch time and the staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. The food was good and served up hot (that's a bit of a feat considering how many of us there were). A big thank you to them all for making a family day great.

Dropped in with a large party out of the blue having discovered that the King's Head didn't allow dogs in the beer garden.

We later discovered that they like parties of 10 or more to book in advance for food, we hadn't but they could not have been more accommodating

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were all exceptionally friendly.

The food was excellent, the beer was good, but it was the warm welcome that really makes this place.

A really big thank you to all the staff for making our day, which was already good, just that bit better.

Highly recommended.
