“A tranquil boat ride on the Waveney”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

A pleasant ride on the river from the lock to Beccles and back. Carl provided interesting details as we gently glided across the water. A very pleasant & relaxing way to spend time. Will do this again in the summer.

“Perfect tranquility”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Not your normal type of boat trip. Leaving from Beccles, this 12-seater boat, with outboard motor and knowledgable, guide, takes you on a 40 minute leisurely trip up the River Waveney to Geldeston Lock. Have a drink or food there at the pub and then return to Beccles a few hours later.
Needs to be pre-booked. Runs from about April to the end of October. Reasonable fare.

“what a delight.”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

A trip on this ferry is like a medtaion, the boatmen are both very familiar with where the birds and other points of interest are to be found ( kingfishers, otters, the fmaily of swans) and their appreciation of the environment is infectious. the new motor is very quiet, but even so, it can be knocked off to drift slowly past where the kinfisher is sitting. I have been on this trip many times in different seasons, and it always inspires with the astonishing beauty of this bit of the Suffolk Norfolk border. take a camera, and plan time for a drink at the pub at the other end. for photos check out eh big dog facebook page.
