David and Alona are extremely kind and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The inn was outstandingly clean and the rooms had a country log home feel. David and Alona go out of the way to make sure there guest are cozy and content.

My wife and I stayed at the Nestlewood Inn during the February vacation week (we're both teachers) on a friend's recommendation. Our hosts, an accommodating young couple, and a a friendly canine, made for a relaxing stay. After our days of skiing, we could always count on good recommendations for the evening's dining or social suggestions. After the first night it was nice to know we didn't have to make plans or research restaurants, as the suggestions were always perfect.

The accommodations were top notch in this new building. The large beams and pine throughout the building were light and warming despite the cold temperatures outside. The large bed was soft and luxurious with comforting sheets. Apparently the inn keepers are always asked about the brand of mattresses. Besides the bedroom, there were plenty of places on the first floor to spread out, relax and enjoy a good book by the fire or in the library. Additionally, there was a spot in the basement to keep our ski gear in a locker. This was a welcomed treat, especially considering the toxicity of my ski boots. This room also had a guest fridge that was clean and well kept. It was great for some leftovers, a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer to enjoy after skiing.

Each morning there was a great breakfast. During our stay we had French toast, pancakes, and eggs of some kind (I don't really know, because I despise eggs). Each afternoon there was always some fresh baked treat.

While not directly from the Nestlewood Inn, the Sugarloaf shuttle was great. We didn't discover this until later in the week, but it would take you anywhere you wanted to go on e mountain or to nearby restaurants. It is not on any scheduled route, but when we called for a pick up we never waited more than 10 minutes.

Our only negative would be the price, but possibly because we are spoiled. We both lived in ski towns and still have friends that we often crash with, so pay minimal (if anything) for lodging. I guess we've become adults now and are beyond the the couch crashing stage.

Easily recommend the Nestlewood Inn. We hope to see our hosts again soon.

We had a fantastic stay here over mid-winter break. The Inn is perfectly located at the base of the mountain. I went snowshoeing at the Narrow Gauge trails and the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center trails after dropping my daughter off for downhill skiing. Both places to snowshoe were very close by with great views of the mountain.

The Inn was the cleanest place I've ever stayed and it was decorated very tastefully. The beds were very plush. The furniture in the living area and the study was very comfortable. The food was great - afternoon snacks of bread/cookies and tea/cocoa and a breakfast with ample serving sizes. For dinner, we ate at the Italian restaurant, Hugs, just down the street and had an excellent meal.

A great experience provided by innkeepers David and Alona. I would highly recommend this Inn to others and would stay here again myself.

This is a very high quality B & B for a very reasonable price! The customer service is superb!!! The homecooked breakfast is fantastic, the host is like a personal concierge at a 5-star hotel (with a more laid-back Maine attitude), and the inn is beautiful, in a quiet wooded setting, tastefully decorated with really comfortable beds and high quality linens. It is located just a few minutes from Sugarloaf, just next to the crosscountry/ snowshowing ski center, and literally just across the street from a very good Italian restaurant, which is handy if you feel like drinking a lot of wine with dinner and then walking home. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed we were with the level of luxury and high customer service. I've traveled extensively and this place belongs on the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List!!! I recommend the Hickory Room--lovely rustic wood furniture, a view of the snowy woods in the back from the second floor, and a super comfy king size bed and great shower. Even the resident dog is quiet and well-behaved! It's also eco-conscious with low-flush tolilets and a "re-use your towels if you want to" policy. It's just the right combination of luxurious and laid back, perfect for a skiing /sledding/ snowmobiling/ tubing/ snowshowing weekend!

This place is by far the nicest, cleanest, most gorgeous hotel/inn I have ever stayed at. The owners were very pleasant and friendly and always helped make our stay more enjoyable. They were also always available if we needed anything no matter what time of day or night. The place is very large and spacious. The rooms are also very large and cozy. The beds are more comfortable than anything I've ever slept on. The breakfast is amazing, homemade everything from blueberry parfaits to delicious pancakes. Also very close to the mountain, a very short 2-3 minute drive. Would highly recommend this place to anyone, the prices per night are very fair considering what you receive. Thanks again, I will definitely be back.

We have stayed here twice during the ski season 09/10. It's just a few minutes drive from the slopes. There is also a real nice Italian restaurant just 200 meters away, it's like 3 minutes by foot, so no need for a designated driver, if you are in a mood for some wine.
Absolutely the nicest log house. Rooms are super clean and really nicely decorated, high ceilings in a living room and breakfast room. The owners, young-ish couple, are really friendly and easy to deal with. Breakfast was good: fresh fruits with yogurt to start, and then eggs, ham on an english muffin with home fries, coffee, tea and juice. Their menu changes daily.
There are also lockers for your skis or golf equipments, and a fridge for guests, and Wi-Fi.
We loved it, and as soon as there is snow, we hope to be back.

Just got back from 3 nights at the Nestlewood. It is clean, quiet and friendly! And it is a 3 minute drive to the Sugarloaf parking lot. We had room #2 which was huge and completely handicapped accessible, including the bathroom. We didn't need the handicapped but if you do then it's fantastic with all the right bars, seat in the shower and hand held shower head if you want it. I highly recommend the Nestlewood!
