“Great B&B near Sugarloaf”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2013

This was our first stay at a B&B, as we usually tend to stay at hotels. But due to last minute booking for Christmas ski vacation, we found Nestlewood Inn to be a cheaper option than staying at Sugarloaf. And WOW am I glad we found this place! The log cabin is BEAUTIFUL, recently constructed, it is super clean and comfortable. Dave and Alona are great hosts, and make a very good breakfast each day. The quiet mountain setting makes for a very relaxing stay, and being less than 5 minutes drive to the mountain means you don't have to miss anything.
Will recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay near Sugarloaf, and we will definitely be back in the future.

We have stayed in many B&B's around the country and this one is top notch. David and Alona are delightful and the breakfast that Alona prepared each morning was delicious. We loved the mountain setting, the cleanliness, the open yet cozy feeling of the Inn and the welcoming dog Sadie. We will recommend to friends traveling in the area and hope to return someday.

We found the Nestlewood Inn via Trip Advisor for an impromptu weekend away with another couple and how lucky we were!! I had read the 16 reviews rating the Nestlewood Inn “excellent” in Trip Advisor, and now mine is the 17th.

The Inn is absolutely beautiful, new and clean, with a gorgeous stone fireplace in the great room which also had the TV. The room was extremely clean and peaceful, with a bed, bureau, easy chair, closet and full bathroom. Alona, one of the innkeepers, provided guidance on restaurants, activities and hiking trails; all of her recommendations were perfect. WIFI was also available throughout the inn. The lower level also had a refrigerator for guests, so that beverages, etc. could be kept cool.

Breakfast was delicious as well! Fresh fruit with yogurt topped with granola, blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, as well as sausages and locally roasted coffee; Alona was careful to ask about food allergies, etc. There were also freshly baked cookies when we arrived.

Besides being beautiful and relaxing, it also is a wonderful value… we plan on going back with additional friends! Recommend this place very, very highly. This is a great place for summer as well as winter!

We recently spent 3 nights at Nestlewood inn while attending our daughter's ski race at Sugarloaf. Innkeeprs Dave & Alona were very welcoming and made everyone at the Inn feel at home. Our room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfasts were fantastic. In our three days we were served blueberry pancakes with fruit, french toast w strawberries and a very tasty egg on an english muffin with a side of granola and yogurt. After a long day on the hill we would enjoy a late afternoon tea while munching on the delicious fresh baked cookies and watching tv or catching up on a bit of reading (great magazine selection btw). Enjoyed our dinners at Hugs nearby and Gepettos at the hill.

nearby and Gepettos at the hill. Would definitely stay at Nestlewood again!

A one day ski trip to Sugarloaf from Connecticut is impossible due to the seven hour one-way drive-time. But that's where the good snow is. And so the idea was to stay the night before at the lodge. Then we could get up the next day, ski and make the drive home by midnight. But the price to stay the night at the mountain was crazy $$$...So this is where the Nestlewood Inn came in. Here you have a wonderful place to stay(see other reviews for details) near Sugarloaf for a fraction of the cost of staying at the mountain. The room was perfect;e.g., spacious, clean and the Innkeepers gracious(we arrived a bit later than we expected). Breakfast was at 7:30(we arrived a little early) and we had plenty of time to enjoy a stack of blueberry pancakes, fruit and a couple of cups of Carrabassett French Roast coffee, get acquainted with the Innkeeper; and make the 10 minute jaunt to Sugarloaf as they started the lifts at 8:30. Just what the doctor ordered!

Room Tip: There are 7 rooms. We were in Rm #2, first floor, with two queen beds. Perfect.

The Nestlewood Inn is the best place to stay near Sugarloaf. The lodge is new and beautiful -- a traditional post & beam construction with pine paneled walls, a large stone fireplace, and dozens of gorgeous oriental rugs. Each sleeping room is unique and tastefully furnished. The location is quiet and private. Breakfast is included in the stay, and the innkeepers will cheerfully accommodate your dietary preferences or requirements. Nestlewood was by far our favorite place to stay last year and a well-kept secret -- some weekends we were the only guests. Sadly for us (but not for the innkeepers), the secret is now "out." The rooms are booked well in advance and rates have nearly doubled. It's now out of our price range, but if your budget allows, Nestlewood should be your first choice of lodging.

The moment you walk into this beautiful new log cabin inn you feel welcomed & at home by the young couple innkeepers Dave & Alona. Only a minute to the Sugarloaf Mountain access road & nestled into a quiet spot in the woods with wonderful amenities. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms modern, & everything about this inn is quality. And, Dave & Alona, who are friends with Seth Wescott the 2006 & 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Downhill Bordercross, know everthing that's going on both on & off the mountain. They were wonderful hosts. I highly recommend the Nestlewood Inn for visitors to Sugarloaf who are looking for that perfect vacation spot.

Room Tip: All seven rooms are very nice
