The location and views from this hotel are beautiful, and our deluxe room was on the 3rd floor, corner room with spectacular views. However, that's about all that can be said for this hotel. We checked in around 2pm and were told nothing was open for lunch. The novice clerk at reception could not suggest anywhere in town where we might get a bite. He actually tried to find something online. Annoying because Figline Valdarno is not large. We ventured out alone and found a place in San Giovanni that although not open until 5pm, were kind enough to fix us bruschetta with ham & cheeses. When we returned to the hotel 2 1/2 hours later our luggage was still sitting in the lobby. No one was around and this is how the entire experience went here. The bar was never open and we had to go searching for someone to help us and each time it was not a bartender, but someome doing other tasks such as hosing off the decking The front desk was not able to provide directions to Siena, breakfast was to be until 10 am and at 9:30 everything was being cleared away. No manager was ever there otherwise we would have told them they know nothing about running a hotel. Don't waste your money here!

We arrived at the hotel and like many others carried our suitcases in from the car. We arrived at 3pm and it seemed to be a problem to get something to eat. After a call to reception eventually a cheese and ham sandwich arrived on tough bread.
The room was adequate but cold due to the fact that the hotel do not turn the heating on before the 15th October. I called reception and was very surprised at how rude they were, So much so that I visted the desk in person to request a fan heater. The breakfast in the morning is non descript ham, cheese and croissant and dining in the hotel restarant is like being in an episode of faulty towers.
Late food, cold food, incorrect order, missing parts of order, not greeted on arrival, didn't say goodbye on leaving, and they were only serving 7 tables. On a positive note the setting and scenery is lovely.

Location is great, rooms are romantic and .... that's about it.
Staff is arrogant in way I've never experienced before.
There is no service whatsoever aside form 1 junior reception guy and 1 of the cleaning ladies. All others (if present at all) of no use. Restaurant quality is ok but not for the prices they charge. Bar is always closed. Pool is small but clean / great view.
Overall : worst price/quality ratio of my life.

We just returned from Italy and the Villa Borghetta was a wonderful respite from the busy cities of Florence and Venice.

It does seem to be a normal routine in Italy to always "downgrade" your room no matter what you paid for. So as with other hotels, we had to stand firm on changing the room from one bed to two as we were two women traveling together.

Just remember in Italy, the pools are not heated nor is the jacuzzi. We did a spa treatment. Don't bother it wasn't good. It was weird. By the way, you have to schedule the steam room. It takes over 2 hours to get it to steam and unlike most spas in the US, you have to pay for it at the Villa.

We do not recommend the restaurant. While beautiful and the setting with the view spectacular, the food was not.

This establishment is an absolute disaster. The staff (whatever staff there is) are extremely rude. We drove 2 hours to get there and we got lost on the way. Nobody was there to answer the phone to help give us directions and once we arrived we had to carry our own luggage up their steep driveway. The entire place has a cold empty feel. I have traveled the world and stayed at all classes of hotels & resorts. I have never been more dissatisfied with hospitality. I joined tripadvisor just so I can warn people from booking this resort. Feel free to email me with any questions.
