“Nice wine, nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2012

It really isn't that hard to find. You contiue by car from the main Seguret parking up the 2km to the vineyard. Years ago we went and the road was not paved. It is now. The location is quite special being at the top of the hill overlooking the valley below full of vineyards. The owner is a charmer and loves talking about his wine. Tastings are fun and informative. Some of his wine is great.
We recently stayed there for several days with friends. The house was well equiped and everything worked. A bit pricey. He left us some of his basic wine to try. Regarding the wines, his Reserve is superb and cost the most. The Tradition basic wines are OK but nothing to write home or TA about. The location besides being beautiful is close to Gigondas, Seguret, Vaison La Romaine, and other great villages and wine makers. It is best if you are going to stay in the area as going beyond, like to Chateau neuf is bit of a ride but not that bad (30-40 minutes). Depending on time of year, there is a lot going on, like in the summer in particular.

“Wonderful wine and wine tasting experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2012

The hardest part was walking the steep 2 km uphill to get to the vineyard. We may have walked for close to 1 hour. We were rewarded by our preserverence. The owner/winemaster was a friendly Scottsman who gave us a wonderful overview of the vineyard and the wines. The walk back to town only took 5 minutes! Loved the Grenache and Syrah.

“A fabulous winery not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2011

A fantastic winery in the most beautiful of settings, it is surrounded by small hills and valleys, with vineyards cascading down the hillsides. The winery is difficult to find as it is situated along un-named roads. If you are using a Sat Nav then get the co-ordinates from Google World and feed them in, it took us directly to the door.
The Cotes Du Rhone Villages make some great wines, and this is certainly one of the best, if not the best. The winery is all gravity fed (when you pump a wine you do destroy some of the complexity) but at Domaine de Mourchon the winery has cleverly been built down the hillside so the wines are not put through a pumping process, it certainly shows in their quality. The winery is owned and run by the McKinlay family, if you are lucky when you visit you will meet Walter who is passionate about the area, the appellation and his wines and so he should be. The wines certainly are stunning, ranging from the White Cote Du Rhone through a beautifully crafted Rose to the outstanding reds,if you visit the most beautiful village of Seguret you must visit this winery. The whole area is well worth a vist and Seguret is one of the jewels of the crown
