“Great Hotel- beautiful, quiet location with easy access to Siena.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

My wife and I had a nice, quiet couple of nights at Hotel More di Cuna in early July, 2014. It's in a little village a few miles south of Siena and very convenient for travelers that want to spend there days in town. It's really a beautiful place- the hotel is an old (1300s?) farmhouse/barn that has been renovated very nicely. I can't recommend this place enough- it just has a nice feeling about it.

The host, Vittorio, was very friendly and good to visit with (in English or Italian). The setting is gorgeous, the room and bathroom were very nice and very clean.

And, the restaurant next door.. I don't know it's name or I would write a separate review. It was awesome. We just followed our waitress' recommendations and ended up eating a really fantastic meal. Every course was just delicious, with the highlight being a pasta dish with smoked goose and fresh truffles (picked the day before).

The only recommendation or warning that I have is for people traveling by bus/train. We had a little trouble. So, here's what you do: buy a town map and local bus tickets at the train station (buy as many as you'll need for your time in Siena all at once). Then, walk from the train station to Piazza del Sale (10min walk? you can maybe find a bus for this route). From Piazza del Sale, take bus number 2- it runs every half hour from Piazza del Sale to a town just south of More di Cuna. You'll see a little sign for the village of More di Cuna. Get off the bus in this village and continue down the road walking just a couple minutes to the hotel.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel from the 24th to the 29th June. We were there for a friends wedding. Unfortunately the didn't have enough room in a villa near by so stayed picked this hotel. We were both very happy with the hotel. The staff are so so friendly and made us both feel at home. They cannot do enough to make your stay as stress free as possible. We didn't have breakfast in the restaurant once as we slept in past breakfast most mornings, well my partner did, and still went down and had coffee and croissants late afternoon. Rooms are clean and cool, beds are good, shower hot and very very quite. If you are in the area, this hotel is a must. We fell in love with central Tuscany so when we come back, we will be looking to book this hotel again. Restaurant next door does an amazing meat dish.

Close to the highway the hotel was easy to find and parking was a breeze. The grounds were spacious and picturesque and not noisy. My room had a great view and there was a lift if needed.
Host Vittorio took a lot of trouble to give me ideas and tips for touring the area, which made me more confident to give it a try as a single traveler.
The rooms were spotless and had nice 4 star type additions like a hair dryer.
The adjoining restaurant was really convenient and friendly, although it's closed on Mondays.

Room Tip: My room 216 was very spacious and had a great view. Facilities more like 4 star but at a 3 star pric...

This is a wonderful hotel. It was the best of 6 hotels we stayed during our trip, despite we lost the way in the night (thanks to navi device) and had to drive on the fields. Location is very good because it's almost in the middle of Tuscany and so close to Sienna.
It is by the road and our room was on that side but we didn't hear any noise. Our room was quite large, even with 2+1 beds. Bathroom was large too. All areas are very clean. It had all necessary stuff. Breakfast was nice if not perfect.
For the staff, we only saw a lady, in late evening and early morning. She was so kind and helpful. Check-in hour seemed as 10pm but she waited and served us until 11pm.
Only negative issue was heating. I had to give my blanket to my daughter and I got a little cold.
Provides free wi-fi and car parking. Absolutely suggested.

The spacious first floor room The wonderful breakfast and a great recommendation for a local dinner and homemade ice cream made this visit to the Siena area a big success. We had a very sumptuous meal at a recommended restaurant in Monteroni d Arbia. We then went next-door for homemade ice cream!

When we arrived we weren't sure it was open because it looked so quiet! All the guests were out enjoying Italy I guess! The hotel is situated in the middle of 2 major roads which concerned me. But when you pull into the parking lot you forget where you are! Warm and friendly hotel.
It's a perfect location for driving throughout Tuscany to the Chianti region, Sienna etc. The rooms were beautiful with tall ceilings and very clean. And when the windows are shut you dont hear any outside noise!
The staff is beyond fantastic! They were so helpful in planning our day trips around the area and suggesting a cute little town close by for dinner. They truly went above and beyond when we had to leave very early one morning and made us coffee the night before! We were very impressed.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor which had high ceilings...not sure if this is the case with all the rooms...

From the moment you enter the hotel there is that warm feeling that you are home. The old world charm of the Hotel and the hospitality combination of the too is so inviting. The breakfast is everything you want to taste in Italy from cappuchino to pastries, cheeses olives, yougurt granola there is something for everyone. The rooms are clean with old world charm. We had a car so it was easy for us to get around to see the sights Nichole was at the desk with a pleasent smile and maped out everything we need to get to. Cant wait to stay again.

Room Tip: Bottom floor if you have alot of luggage
