Ti Kaye is a very lovely resort with a french chic laid back atmosphere and a good value. We loved our cottage with the big four poster bed w/ mosquito netting and the outdoor shower! The locally made bath amenities were a nice touch. Meals in the open air dining room overlooking the ocean were good and the dining room staff very attentive and friendly. Dinner had a sexy, candlelit atmosphere. We rented a car and the drive from the airport to Ti Kaye was maybe an hour, but so worth it for the beautiful scenery, especially in the Piton area and thru the rainforest. The road down to Ti Kaye is bumpy but not nearly as difficult as some describe here. It added to the adventure! A beautiful beach is very important to me, but unfortunately I didn't find the beach here very picturesque. The snorkeling and scuba were supposed to be very good here though. Also the pool is small and I didn't really see anyone using it. St. Lucia itself is lush and beautiful, and the people are very friendly.

Hi Kristina27516,

It's great to read reviews that highlight certain things that usually get overlooked (but we feel make a difference), such as our locally made (with local ingredients) bathroom amenities (and Spa products out of interest).

The snorkeling and scuba ARE very good, it's a shame you didn't get to try them as Anse Cochon (our beach) is one of the best snorkeling spots on the island.

Thanks for mentioning the friendliness of the Saint Lucian people - they are an asset to the country.

Kind regards,

Chris & Sarah

Dear BWWW2014,

Thanks for your review, and kind subject title. It's great to read that you had such a wonderful vacation (as Ti Kaye is not your ordinary 'run of the mill' kind of resort) that we will not be forgotten.

We look forward to you both returning soon...

There are so many great reviews about Ti Kaye that I'm not going to repeat them all...they are all true. All I can say after a two week stay here is that we didn't want to leave...the maid almost had to push us out of the door of our wonderful cottage on departure day. Oh, and that the outdoor showers are totally amazing - I wish I never had to shower indoors again! Now that we are home again we are so sad that we are not at Ti Kaye anymore. We returned home to a family bereavement - all I want to do now is to return to Ti Kaye, shut out the real world, watch the birds and the sea, and relax. We will be returning, no doubt about that.

Room Tip: We had Doudou - a wonderful cottage right at the end of the grounds. However, expect other guests t...

Ti Kaye is amazing! Stayed here for a week with my wife; we're late-30s, married 6 years. It's small (~30 cottages), secluded (with the harrowing mile-long driveway to prove it), and beautiful. Our cottage was the picture of paradise, a private little residence tucked on the hillside overlooking a gorgeous Carribbean bay, with a hammock on the large deck, big four-poster bed, and outdoor shower. So charming - lets you really relax and soak up the tropical breezes.

There are two restaurants, and for such a small place off the beaten path, the food is remarkably good, with menus changing daily. Lots of activities to sign up for (tours, snorkeling, diving, etc.), so you're definitely not going to be bored (unless you want to be). The beach is semi-private, with plenty of chairs and umbrellas for all the hotel guests, but it is 160+ steps down from the resort. Certainly manageable, but not a trek you want to make more than once a day.

There's a beautiful spa overlooking the ocean, as well. Everything is immaculate, top-notch (if a little rustic). Kind of like tropical camping in luxury.

PRO TIP: All the guests will be couples (no children allowed), generally honeymooners or anniversary-ers. Many will have chosen this resort for its seclusion, i.e. not to make friends. However, if you would like to meet other couples so you have some other folks to talk to or hang out with, I strongly suggest signing up for the wine tasting on the first available evening. My wife and I did, and we met three other couples that night and very quickly bonded (not hard when you're drinking 10 glasses of wine). We ended up hanging out with them several nights: at dinner, drinks, even a little evening soiree at one of their cottages, drinking rum around their private plunge pool. Happy to say we made some good friends, which we didn't expect. Also, the sommelier Cleus was one of our favorite parts of the whole vacation!

The only negative thing I can say about Ti Kaye is that the service at both restaurants is slow. I know all about "island speed," but the servers don't check in enough to freshen drinks, that sort of thing. Such a minor thing, but had to be mentioned.

Room Tip: Rooms with private plunge pools seem to have the best views.

Well hello there Ryan P,

Happy to read you were able to 'relax in paradise'. Your review is very descriptive - which always helps potential future guests. Not sure I agree with the 'tropical camping in luxury' analogy though? As we have no tents, or campsites :-)

Thanks for brining to my attention the service at both restaurants. Although we are on an island (as in fact, a lot of countries are ... sometimes just BIG islands) we are not a fan of 'island speed'. 'Relaxed but efficient service' is OK, but it seems what you are describing is not typical so I'll have word with the team.

Kind regards,

We had a great time staying at Ti Kaye. The staff was great, the beach was relaxing, and the view from the room was beautiful. The beach vendors were friendly and not pushy - I told them I would find them if I needed anything and they never asked me to buy anything again. The food is great - we usually shared an appetizer and each got an entree. We were never still hungry. Food is not inexpensive but we did feel like we were getting quality. I recommend going to town Friday night for the fish fest and doing the 5 course seafood dinner on Monday night. The ride isn't great going to and from the airport and there are a lot of steps on the property, but we had such a great experience that those things didn't affect our stay. We generally only go to a place once, but had such a nice time that we would consider vacationing here again.

A great summary review from a 'great stay'.

A great compliment that you may visit again, seeing as you usually only visit a place once.

We had chosen St. Lucia as our vacation destination this year based on our experience on a cruise in 2010, where this was one of our ports of call. We were impressed with the country and the people we met at that time, and knew we would return. We were not disappointed! We wanted to stay at a small, secluded resort where we could spend our hours relaxing, and as we searched on Trip Advisor and online Ti Kaye definitely seemed to be the place we were looking for. The resort is amazing, and mostly because of the wonderful people working there. Everyone, and I mean everyone, makes you their number one priority while you are their guest. This was definitely the most relaxing and rejuvenating vacation we have ever experienced. The cottages were quaint, comfortable, and quiet. The view from our veranda amazing...every morning we sat with our coffee and watched the fishermen and sailboats as they came and left. About the only negative about this resort (and is not something they have control over) is the daily parade of catamarans full of tourists that visit the same beach area. Not as bad as other comments may make it sound, they do have an "arrangement" that the tourists do not use the resort beach area. About the only real irritation is trying to snorkel when the boats are coming and going, plan your water time early or late. And, be prepared to get some exercise while you are staying at Ti Kaye, it is on a cliff and there are lots of stairs and steep driveways! But think of it as a good way to work off the wonderful meals you will be consuming at the fantastic restaurants! Throw in a wine cave tasting, maybe a trip to Soufriere or a dive excursion, and you will have the vacation of a lifetime!

Room Tip: We stayed in Gwyen and loved it - chose to spend time on our veranda and in our plunge pool in the l...

Hi SandyandMike131,

It's great to read that you not only enjoyed Ti Kaye, but Saint Lucia and it's people as well, they are naturally very friendly and helpful people (especially our staff)! Also glad that your research paid off and Ti Kaye 'definitely seemed to be the place we were looking for'.

Thanks for using the steps to the beach to 'work off the wonderful meals' - it beats going to the gym ... although we have one of those as well (which we have just purchased some new equipment for - including a treadmill and rowing machine for all you gym-aholics)!

We'd be delighted to have you back for your next 'vacation of a lifetime'.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend at Ti Kaye. The place is stunning, the staff are super-friendly and we found it to be the perfect balance of luxury with great service whilst feeling relaxed and quite at home. I've stayed here a number of years ago and the place has improved tremendously. Everything we had to eat and drink was perfect…we would especially recommend the wine tasting! A great experience through and through!

Hello foddieyogachick,

Thank you very much for your complimentary review - and your feeling that since your last visit 'the place has improved tremendously'. It's good to know we're moving the right direction, and as your name suggests you like food and yoga (and we have both) and you thought we were 'amazing' we shall continue in that direction!
