“Awesome Guides!”

We booked a bike and kayak tour and an all-day hike with guides Jennifer and Dennis. It was well worth it! They really know their stuff, and were flexible to meet the needs of our family. Highly recommended.

“A Highlight of Our Visit to Cape Breton”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

I have never written a review before yet felt I needed to share our experience so others could benefit. We are a family of 4 (2 boys 12&14) and Eagle North was the perfect complement to our trip. From the beginning of our tour it was clear Michael (our guide) was both experienced and very passionate about guiding, and ensuring all were comfortable. Throughout we learned about the local terrain and the folklore of the area through his experiences in growing up in the area. Questions were welcomed and the tour took us through the brackish inlet and the ocean. A fabulous experience with lots of variety and learning. These guys are first rate and made our experience a truly memorable one!!! MF

This stunning harbour is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely or intensive (6hr) kayak. The views are spectacular, with beautiful marshlands and excellent bird watching. An absolute must-see and experience!!

“A highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2013

After a lot of research while planning our RV trip with the kids to Cape Breton, we came upon the Eagle North Kayaks as an option. We've done lots of travelling, and some canoe/kayaking but not extensively. This seemed like a great way to meld the two together and learn a bit while we were at it. We had a great time. Michael and his wife were friendly and helpful with booking and planning. We were on a tour with two other travellers, taking a paddle out into South Harbour. Though the weather didn't permit us to get out onto the ocean we had a good view of the large protected harbour and several small coves. We enjoyed a snack on the beach while Micheal entertained us with local lore and stories. He had an excellent knowledge of the area, including the biology of the fisheries, the salt marsh, local seabirds, etc, and answered our questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. A great way to enjoy the beauty of the area, and learn about Cape Breton at the same time.

“Eagle North made our visit fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

The folks at Eagle North helped us plan our trip, including booking us at the Markland Cottages, which were quaint, clean and on a stunningly beautiful piece of property on the beach.

Our family of 5 spent a half-day kayaking with Michael. He made it easy and fun, with information about birds and geology, and shipwreck stories! And who doesn't love a little spot of tea and oatcakes on the beach? The perfect combination of wilderness and civilization. Micheal obviously loves his job and the area, and had a wealth of information about what to do and see. We took a half-day hike along a breathtaking peak with Jennifer, after having driven up a little-used mountain road. We were the only ones there and we felt like we were in a secret place only locals knew about. They even provided us with a map on which they had personally noted other hikes and attractions we should do while in the area. Our time with them was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. Do not visit Cape Breton without booking with Eagle North/Sea Spray!
