As an older woman traveling with my gay son, his boyfriend and brother we couldn't have felt more welcome or comfortable. Staff were friendly and non-judgmental and went out of their way to make sure we had every need met. And the hotel is contemporary with a touch of elegance including Crabtree and Evelyn bath products - WOW!

Rooms are as you would expect in the Hilton group - clean, airy and comfortable.
Breakfasts are very good and we also booked a dinner package and the evening meals were very good. Package we booked was great value.
All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful, especially the concierge and waiters - well done Hilton
Very good to have a free courtesy bus to take you to the V&A in central Cape Town but would be nice to have a later return option.
Very close to main road so easy to get out and about but you do need a car. Hotel is also very close to Kirstenbos botanical gardens which is worth a visit.

Main criticism:-
Put us in normal room even though we'd booked a deluxe queen - took over an hour to sort it out but outcome was a deluxe king room, so good outcome.
Wifi - give you a code which changes daily and keeps timing out - very frustrating
Fifth floor - had a rear view of table mountain which was good but very very windy so couldn't open the windows as too noisy. Also room smelt of drains.
Toiletries - don't get the same as you would in England and we had booked a deluxe room so I would have expected mouthwash etc.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear get a good view of table mountain & the lions head. Fifth floor too windy &am...

My Husband and i had a lovely stay at the Hilton Hotel. The staff were so helpful. We Managed to get a good deal on booking.com. Our Room was always cleaned and replaced our bed with good fresh sheets and the bathroom Towels too. The hotel is not so far from the V & A Water front and Table Mountain. We enjoyed our stay and the wines at the bar were not so expensive so thats a plus, when you are in Cape Town you need to enjoy the wines. One thing though, for a 4 star Hotel there is need to have a mini Fridge in the room.

We had a wonderful time in Cape Town and the stay in Doubletree Hotel contributed to that. Expecially the staff being very friendly and helping where necessary ! Lobby, room, restaurant, shuttle service can be described as excellent. It was also helpful that there are shops, hairdresser and others in the same building.

If you're needing to be in CT this is a great place to stay. Good value for money and lovely acoomodation. Very central. You feel like a special guest in a very friendly environment. The very comfy interior contrasting to the more "industrial" part of town. We had a really good stay, would definitely stay there again and recommend that you try it.

In my stay as Hotel was recommended by Conference organizers, I faced a problem in exchanging money as policy is forcing you to exchange much more than your need and staff are not ready to exchange and pay balance in US Dollar.

My wife +2 kids stayed here for 8 nights while in town for wedding in wine country. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. Plenty of food and dining options in the hotel which was very convenient after long days of sightseeing. Great pool and gym. We stayed in a suite which was very clean and well kept. My only "other" was you have to keep getting vouchers to use the internet. This is common for most Cape Town hotels for some reason. The hotel has a shuttle to the V&A waterfront. One time the shuttle van was full and the hotel paid for a cab for us to the waterfront. Would definitely book here again!
