“One of the best B&B we've ever stayed at!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

We stayed at Oaklands Farmhouse this June for 2 nights, we were on a trip visiting the Cotswolds. The accomodation was really superb. We've travelled a lot in all Europe, especially Northern Europe, and we've always stayed mostly in B&B: this is probably one of the best we've ever stayed at! The house is all renewed and really charming and awesome. The hospitality was spotless: we had the room with the ensuite bathroom and it was large, with a big comfy bed, and everything we could ask for, including the hairdyer, the brush for the clothes, a small sponge for the shoes, and warm central heating (we come from Italy and British summer is quite cold for us!). The breakfast was sublime: I chose the French one, while my husband took the traditional English one, and they were excellent. We appreciated especially the presence on our table of fresh fruit (delicious strawberries and blueberries) with yogurt, and the croissant and pain au chocolat were mouth watering! Barbara and Murray's suggestions for dinner were very good too, The conversation was so nice, and their hospitality so warm: they made us feel at home. We would surely suggest this B&B to everyone!!!

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night break at this B&B. The house is very old and has been beautifully restored by the owners Murray and Barbara. It is luxurious but manages to be cosy and homely at the same time. There are 2 rooms and we had the 1 with a bathroom just across the landing which wasn't a problem as Barbara supplied dressing gowns for our use. The bathroom was beautiful with a large bath and walk in shower and the toiletries supplied were The White Company - need I say more ! Our room had everything we needed including an electric blanket, TV, drinks tray with homemade shortbread and chocolate, hairdryer and much more. There was a delightful room called The Snug which is available for visitors use. It has a woodburner, TV and DVD player and a large selection of books available for reading. Murray and Barbara were very helpful regarding places to visit and restaurants to eat at. Breakfast was delicious with a lovely selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, porridge and traditional cooked English or cooked Scottish ! All in all a great relaxing place to stay and I can't recommend it enough.

Barbara and Murray's B&B would have to be the best we've ever had the pleasure of discovering. From the moment Barbara greeted us we were made to feel so welcome. We stayed on a very cold night and the fire in the snug was so warm and cosy. We spent a lovely evening relaxing by the fire and reading. Their collection of books is riveting!
Our room, and indeed all the guest rooms, are decorated absolutely beautifully. Nothing is lacking.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and conversation with Murray and Barbara was very enjoyable.
We will recommend Oaklands to everyone who may be visiting the UK. We loved it!

Room Tip: I'm sure all the rooms would be of excellent quality.

Very pleased we chose this place as from the moment we arrived Barbara and Murray made us feel most welcome. We booked both of their rooms one of which was en-suite and the second having the most beautiful bathroom across the hallway with a roll top bath and views of the pretty garden.
The rooms are beautifully decorated with very good quality linens and most importantly very comfortable beds. All of us had the best sleep ever.
Guests have use of a lovely snug living room with wood burning stove, Barbara very kindly made us tea and cake when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.
By far the finest B & B I have ever stayed in, both in respect of the warm welcome and the relaxed atmosphere. We will certainly stay again!!!!

Room Tip: Both rooms were lovely and furnished to a very high standard. I would however personally opt for th...

We have just returned from what was supposed to be a one night stay at Oaklands farmhouse, we were so impressed we stayed another night! We had the en suite room, tastefully decorated in cream & toile de jouy fabric, it was immaculate, and ver pretty. The view from the window was stunning. The bed was made with top quality crisp white cotton sheets. There were fresh flowers in the room and shortbread and chocolates on the tea tray. We have stayed in numerous accommodations around the country and this is no ordinary B&B, its very special. Barbara and Murray are very friendly helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast is fabulous. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Only two rooms, both are beautiful
