We were struggling to find somewhere to eat quite late on a Wednesday evening and happened upon The Dolphin. The bar was heaving but the barman was most welcoming and assured us there would be no problem.
We were soon seated and looking through the menu. The choice was good and the prices quite reasonable. Services was prompt and the quality of the food did not disappoint.
Special mention should go to the barman (with the dreads) who was so friendly and helpful.
Unlikely that we will be back this way but thanks for a very pleasant evening.

We were in the Cotswolds for the Easter weekend and went to the Dolphin Inn on Good Friday for my Birthday.
When we arrived it was absolutely heaving and the restaurant was full which was a good sign! Luckily we had phoned ahead.
We were seated by the door but within 5 minutes of sitting down a table in the corner became free and the waitress moved us without having to ask as she thought it might be a bit noisy by the bar for our children. The service, although a little slow due to the number of patrons, continued to be excellent throughout.
The food was amazing. One of the best meals I have had in months. I had the pork belly with ribs on a bed of chilli noodles. The kids enjoyed their pizzas and 'posh' fries!
My husband had the chilli which he said was wonderful. We all also enjoyed our starters from the specials board.
The pub had a lot of residents in from the village so we clearly stuck out as visitors but not in a negative way. It meant that locals asked us where we were from, how long we were in the area etc in a genuinely kind and caring way. They made a fuss of the children and really made us feel welcome. If we were looking to buy a house in the area I would buy in this village immediately! The kids loved playing with Mimi, Bramble, Woody the dogs and the puppy.
Plenty of parking too which is bonus.
I hope we can visit this area again soon (perhaps in warmer weather) and we will definitely go back to the Dolphin if we do.

I visited today with 2 elderly relatives and we all agreed how lovely everything was, I had the seared cod loin with pea and sapphire risotto....delicious and my relatives had the chicken and chorizo pie and the scampi. Everything is cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait but we’ll worth it...will definitely be returning

Not been for a while and keen to try new management, chef and menus. Starters were excellent and very filling. Mains also filling and appetising. Too much to dare have dessert!
Floor manager really inspiring and eager to please. Environment buzzing. The Dolphin is a lively place to be and great food and Service.

Little confusion about our booking, but resolved very quickly and the food and service was excellent. Good quality meals, not one complaint from our party of 18 and great friendly service.
Will definitely be returning again next March. Thanks again
