“Just perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2009

We had booked 3 nights at this hotel but on the last minute decided to stay for 4 so turned up one day early on spec. Ana and her husband were very welcoming and we were able to go straight to our room which was lovely, spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge with several cans of juice and alcohoilc miniatures, very welcome after a long drive. We had a side terrace (room 9) with fantastic views of the countryside and distant views of the sea, great sunsets too. Comfy beds and bedding and loads of towels, what more could you want? No food served Sunday or Monday evening but we drove to a nearby restaurant, recommended by Ana, one night and the next to a roadside venta ( the one on the right leaving the hotel) both of which did great food. The food and service in the hotel restaurant was wonderful, both for breakfast and dinner, and I recommend the fish curry. We don't do hotels as a rule but this one may have changed our minds and we would love to make a return visit in the future. Everyone was extremely friendly and we made the most of Ana's recommendations for trips and her directions were most helpful. Plenty to see and do in the area but you do need a car, fantastic beaches and Medina Sidonia is a must with it's lovely square, perfect for a lazy lunch. Tempted yet? If you need to unwind in great surroundings with friendly people then this is the perfect place.

I spent 5 days at Hotel Sindhura 4 years ago and absolutely loved it. At the time it had only been opened for about a year a everything was new and fresh. Having now returned for a long weekend with my friends I was very pleased to see everything remains as of new, all well preserved. The rooms are simple but charming and very clean. The hotel food is very good and the owners are very kind and helpful; they recommended places to go and visit in the area which we loved. The location is a bit remote but personally I find is the perfect place to relax and escape from all the noises of city life, and the lovely village of Vejer is only a few minutes away by car. I will be going back for a third time for sure!

My husband and I returned 2 weeks ago from a wonderful holiday in beautiful Andalucia and are sure we stayed at one of the best hotels in the region! Having arrived at gone ten at night we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome from Ana and her husband. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay and Ana even looked after me with homeopathic medicines when I fell ill! The hotel is wonderfully situated with fantastic views towards the coast and to the surrounding hills. We had a particularly nice room on the first floor, with a large balcony and views over the pool, gardens and towards the coast. There is a pretty, open roofed central courtyard with a fountain and comfortable chairs where you can enjoy a drink or a coffee and also a lounge and bar. The very good continental breakfast is laid out in the bar area (until the very relaxed time of 10.30!) and is eaten in either the light and airy restaurant or on the terrace. The restaurant serves delicious food and is popular with both residents and visitors, obviously having a good reputation locally. Sindura is well located for visiting the white towns, Cadiz, Seville and the coast and the nearest town, Vejer, is delightful with many places to eat if you fancy a change.
Thank you again to Ana and her lovely, friendly staff for making our stay so memorable!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights back in May and had the most relaxing stay imaginable.
OK so it is 'off the beaten track' but that's what makes it all the more appealing. You can just laze around with a beautiful view and wonderful surroundings or go for a short drive to Vejer or Conil beach as we did.
As for the owners - Ana and Alejandro are the most welcoming and genuinely accomodating people anywhere. We felt like we had known them for years after only 2 nights. We'll definitely be back - Oh and the food in the restaurant is superb.....

Arrived in the late afternoon to find no reception.Hung around for 35 minutes and eventually a non-English speaking cleaner found us.Nothing ready.Spoke to the (?)owner by phone...no dinner since restaurant closed on a Monday!
Difficult to find since it is off the beaten track and the complete lack of welcome hard to justify.
To add insult to injury, they charged my credit card for one night.

We had a marvellous three days at this rural hotel set in the hillside near La Muela village, overlooking amaing views of the Costa de la Luz.
After the buzz of Seville we wanted somewhere to chill, with quiet surroundings, good food and comfortable beds (unusual in Spain where the beds are usually hard). This hotel has it all.
Run by Anna and her husband, nothing is too much to ensure your comfort and they employ an excellent female chef for dinner which can be either a set menu or a la carte. With a great selection of wines, most of which we had never heard of before, the evenings went by in a haze of good food and wine.
On a serious note, it is very rare to find a hotel that is not exhorbitantly priced, when located in such a fine area of Spain, but prices at this hotel are reasonable.
We had hired a car in Seville and driven down to La Muela on excellent roads, and the hotel is ideally located for drives to the coast such as El Parmar for bathing, to the walled town of Vejer or to Cadiz which is about half an hour away. Sadly our short stay at the Sindura was over very quickly, but we will always remember Anna and her husband's kindness and look forward to returning in the future.
A great hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

After reading some of the reviews we visited the hotel with some trepidation.

We were informed upon our arrival that the restuarant was closed on Monday. It was relatively easy to find a good choice of restaurants nearby. For the rest of the week we eat in the restaurant at Hotel Sindhura. We enjoyed superbly cooked food that could not be faulted. The menu was extensive and we enjoyed different dishes every day.

Our room was extremely comfortable and the bed was excellent.

The hosts were charming and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring this Atlantic coastline of Spain.
