We stayed here one night with my family. The location is 10 mins drive from the main city and the cruise drop-off point and no other restaurants are closeby. So if you have car, you will enjoy your stay here.
The owner is very nice person and he picked us up even on his birthday. He also gave us a ride to get the groceries. The room was clean and well kept. The linens are for rental which was informed during the booking. The kitchenette was nice, although they should leave basic things like salt/pepper/sugar etc etc. The scenery outside of this cabin is breathtaking and anyone visiting Aurland should experience it.
Next day my daughter wasnt feeling well so the owner gave us a ride to the city center which was very nice of him.
Definitely recommended.

Stayed in a small apt. for two nights with my husband and two adult children in August. In any direction you eyes travel, you will see at least 3 waterfalls, green fields and mountains surrounding you! The shower is great and there are adequate cooking facilities, we did all of our cooking 'at home'. The owner is very nice, he drove us to town to purchase groceries and waited for us at the market, loaned us bicycles that we used during our entire stay. Unfortunely, linens must be rented seperately if you aren't traveling with your sheets and towels.. which we were not. There was wifi that works best outdoors and close to the main house.... so that was one more reason to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the outdoors and the peaceful surroundings. I saw buses pass by on the road, however If like us and you don't have a car, then get ready to do some serious walking or bicycling. I recommend this farm and hope to return one day.

Room Tip: Corner, higher floors will probably be quieter as far as noise goes, although it is also nice to stay on the ground floor because there is a deck right outside the door.

Our group of 6 adults had 1 one-bedded apartment & 1 studio apartment with single/double bed plus attached top bunk + basic cooking facilities and utensils. Each apartment has an outside deck tables and chairs which were convenient for having breakfast/meals & lazing around. The apartments were slightly dated but comfortable and adequate. The surroundings were very peaceful with mountains and a river running just opposite from the entrance to its compound. Wifi could not be accessed from the apartments, the signal was stronger nearer to the office/reception building. The receptionist and the owner were both pleasant and helpful. As Skahjem Gard is in the outskirt, one needs own transport as the nearest convenience store is a few kilometres away but parking spaces are readily available on site.

I stayed here after booking online as a convenient stop during a tour of Norway on a motorbike.

The apartment I had was part of a group, each has an outside deck tables and chairs leading into a comfortable lounge with a kitchen. The bedroom and shower room lead off the kitchen.
As with most of the other places I stayed at the rule was to leave the accommodation as you found it, and there was plenty of space for my wet clothes to dry.

I had arrived via the mountain road from Laerdal and after a long day this was a perfect place to stop, very peaceful.

If you ride/drive over the mountain, take a few minutes to drive 4km into the Laerdal tunnel to the first stopping/turning point, I would not want to do the whole 23kms!

From Skahjem Gard I rode to Gol via the road outside - some great lakes and tunnels.

Stayed her at the end of the season (summer/autumn) for one night. Booked through Booking.com. The room had cooking facilities, double bed plus attached top bunk. No sheets or towels provided but could be rented or use your own. The owner, a busy man, was very pleasant and spoke perfect English - ex teacher who had studied in Exeter, UK. In addition to looking after the various apartments on the farm he was a farmer.

The rooms were slightly dated but comfortable and adequate. No breakfast available (this was notified during the booking).
