Our family stay in hotel Dorade felt like a little honeymoon vacation
The owners make you feel at home straight away.
Nice view on the ocean, clean simple room, lovely service.
We'll be back as soon as possible

We stayed here 3 nights in a room with a balcony overlooking the harbour, it was very spacious and clean and everything worked, well we didn't watch the tv so no comment on that. The only niggly thing we had was the smell from the en-suite toilet but shutting the toilet lid sorted the problem, the shower was very good, powerful and warm.
We only had breakfast and dinner there which were both plentiful, delicious and of good quality.
The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful.
My husband had just finished the Raid Pyreness http://www.ccb-cyclo.fr/raid_pyreneen.html of which the hotel is an official end point to have your card stamped which was another plus point for us.
There was sufficient English spoken by all staff to communicate.
There is a small pebbly beach literally across the road which had safe swimming areas.
All in all a lovely restful, peaceful stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Located in a little town on the French/Spanish border, Cerbere is reinventing itself from a border station to a quiet alternative to the busier and more costly towns of Collioure abd Banyuls. The centerpiece of the town is the Hotel La Dorade, run by a charming and friendly husband and wife team, who actually enjoy what they are doing. The place is decorated in a charming and personal way, with balconied view rooms for about 75 euros. Rooms w/o view or in the pleasant annex are even less.
The restaurant offers well prepared regional specialties and wines at very moderate prices. For those without a car, the lovely town of Collioure is easily reached by bus and train. This place is a find!

Room Tip: Balcony rooms facing the sea are the best.

This family run hotel in Cerbere has basic clean rooms with the usual facilities. There is a quirky mix of old and new, especially in terms of the photographs, paintings and prints on the walls.
What makes this hotel special is the hardworking and lovely owners Yves and Anne. They work so hard to make your stay special in sleepy and quiet Cebere. The restaurant food is very good and the bar area very popular - locals are always stopping by. Yes it is a popular hotel for cyclists on the RAID of the Pyrenees but apart from seeing a group of them one night at dinner we did not see or hear any more from them.
We ate our typical French breakfast outside in the sun of the bar area and I have posted a photo. There is very little to do in Cebere but it is on the 1 euro bus route from Perpignan route number 400 and is also on the train route again from Perpignan through into Spain. If you want a quiet holiday with the ability to get into Spain - Port Bou, Llanca and Roses or north in France to Argeles, beautiful Collioure, Port Vendres and Banyuls then this is for you. Please be aware the roads are very winding but in good condition and there are many walking routes around too.

We stumbled upon it after driving across the border. We popped in and the owner gave us the big room on one of the top floors with a view of the pier on the spot. She told us that her husband or husband's father had actually been born in the room and grown up there and it had been passed down from generation to generation. What awesome history and character to the place!

She was very sweet and patient with our lack of French.

The dinner was also fabulous. The Almond cake is to die for!!!!!

We ended our Raid Pyreneen trip across the Pyrenees at this hotel and it was a very welcome sight. A wonderful, welcoming, slightly eccentric host who was very friendly, great food, a very comfortable and well equipped room, a view of the bay from the bedroom window - a great experience all round.

Cerbere itself is small and there isn't a great deal there, however the larger coastal towns are only a quick taxi journey away and if you wanted to stay in Cerbere, the Hotel Dorade provides everything you need.

A lovely place with a lovely atmosphere!

Room Tip: Select a room with a sea view. It's a few more Euros but well worth it.

We at Marmot Tours (Activity Holiday Company), have been using the seafront Hotel La Dorade in Cerbere for the last 5 years as a fantastic and welcoming end point to our popular road cycling challenge, the Raid Pyrenean. Run by hard working Yves and his wife, La Dorade is a fabulous place to while away a few hours by the seafront, eating, drinking and being merry! With strong associations to the Cyclo Club Bearnais who organise the route of the Raid (Traverse across the Pyrenees in 100 hours), La Dorade will enthusiastically welcome tired cyclists who are completing their challenge, and is the perfect place to spend the night with clean and comfortable rooms and secure bike storage. The restaurant menu is varied, and the food is of an excellent quality and good value for money. A perfect end or stop over point for any solo or group of cyclists when exploring this beautiful coastline.
