We recently spent 3 nights with Francesca and David (and their assorted and very friendly cats, dogs, and bambini) at Agriturismo Tara. The property is lovely, with good views of the Umbrian countryside. The rooms are well decorated, quiet and comfortable. The pool is great. Breakfasts, with Francesca's fabulous baking, are wonderful. There is excellent attention to detail and to ensuring guests are comfortable. Francesca and David were unbelievably helpful in orienting us to the area and advising on restaurants and towns. They have olive trees and a small vineyard; we tasted lovely olive oil and their red wine. We learned a lot about growing olives and grapes. Tara is a little outside Amelia, a wonderful small hill town with an interesting history. Orvieto and Spoleto and other small hill towns were not far. We highly recommend a stay at Tara.
